Re: GK Rumors
Your welcome Brother!
Your analyse is very intersting... That's precisely the reason why a good friend of mine doesnt pay much attention to 40K... He said to me "if you don''t play first... then you just loose". I don't particulary agree.... but shooting can be realy devastating....

Re: GK Rumors
Well its only armour 12, which makes it an extremely soft target for its cost.
It has way too much weaponry and not enough toughness for the role its given, honestly I think its better as a sitting back and laying down firepower choice, than a in your face delivering troops second turn choice.
It should have been say.... 150-125 points with a single or two assault cannons, and then all the additional weaponry could have been upgraded.

I kinda agree with Zealadin. If I ever take on it won't be for it's transportation ability (aside from Dreadnoughts, of course) but for it's firepower. Hell, if it an option, I may put ISTs or something cheap inside of one in preference to Grey Knights.

Re: GK Rumors
Brothers, I am still not convinced (some may call it denial ) that this is the new SR.
I do like the idea of the vehicle itself zipping GKTs all over the table top though!
I know that GW models are ALWAYS falling short when it comes to beleivability in terms of their troop carrying capacity, but this model is going even further! I don't think a terminator could even fit out of that exit ramp!!!! I could just imagine the SR screeming into battle fireing missiles and meltas everywhere, dramatically touching down with its ramp clanging open only to reveal the lower half of a Terminator who is forced to lie down on his belly and wiggle his way out and stand on the battle field while his Brothers do the same one by one!
As a side note I was thinking about what new and exciting things we may be getting in the new Dex. One idea was that we could end up with teleporting LRs! I know that the BA Dex has deepstriking LRs, and even though there isn't really a use for them, I thought that our Dex may follow suit but with a twist that pulls from our fluff of being heavy users of teleportation technology............
As for the SR model............Some cool cats over at B&C have made some "alterations" to the SR pic that was leaked, and even though the model is still not that great, I think that these changes are an improvement.

You know. As much as I did like the "official" pics I do believe that is better and I may try to make that whenever I get my SR (it's inevitable.)

Actually, the addition of the spoiler does make it better a bit. It's not so front-heavy looking now. Still too chunky though for my sleek taste.

Re: GK Rumors
?!? You have sleek tastes but you play GK? I kinda find that funny since, aside from our terminators, all of our stuff looks rather chunky (our PAGKs could definitely stand to spend a few more hours in the monastery gym, if you know what I mean. )

True. But the difference is GKT's are chunky-cool. That SR ain't.

Re: GK Rumors
That may be why I associate myself with ISTs more than GKs. Less chunky, more cool.
Back on topic, has there been any indicator regarding how Codex: GK will have the same SR that Codex: BA had? Skies of Blood would be a bit out of place for GKs and Bloodstrike Missiles should get a rename at the very least.

Nope. No indication yet. I'm sure though psycannons will be part of the weapon load-out.

Re: GK Rumors
A psycannon instead of the TL Heavy Bolter makes sense to me, and perhaps the option to add another one in favour of the TL Assault Cannon. Psycannon bolts for free with the hurricane bolter upgrade would be nice as well.NemesisForce wrote:Nope. No indication yet. I'm sure though psycannons will be part of the weapon load-out.

How about actually praying that you have to play a litle for them?If you don't need to,then your gonna be OP and what happens?Half the armies in your local are will be GKs since some people just jump to the next army that comes from the line.

Re: GK Rumors
Those people will always jump to the next codex, the fact is they won't stick. DE are the perfect example, high Int and poisoned weapons all around sound great and a bunch of players in my store are already planning new armies. As soon as they realize they require finesse and skill to avoid being blasted off the board they'll drop those armies straight away. The same thing will happen with GK'.s Doesn't matter how nifty rules are at the end of the day they're going to be outnumbered at least 2:1 by other armies and are going to take some skill and thought to win with.Brother Ezekiel wrote:How about actually praying that you have to play a litle for them?If you don't need to,then your gonna be OP and what happens?Half the armies in your local are will be GKs since some people just jump to the next army that comes from the line.

One of the reasons I LOVE playing GK's. It is always tactically challenging to field

xD well we wudnt play fullstop if it wasnt tactically challenging
although on a more personal preference note, if GKs become plastic im going to be making the bases from lead xD, having ur army weigh more than the table theres just sumin epic about that

Re: GK Rumors
was in my new local GW on tuesday where an old GW member is leading the shop now. i know him some time now and he knows im a GK player and so as i entered the shop i asked him about some rumors about the deamonhunter codex or if any of the existing rumor are true.
his reply was "well i cant give you any information about that yet, sorry" he told me afterwards with a big grin in his face: "however we are planning one big deamonhunter event in the first Q of 2011, give me your number and i will give you a call early on"
my guess is.. some of those rumors we got now are indeed true. and yes.. he got my number, the mobile one of course

You realize March still is first quarter right lol I think with the BA getting a Feb release March looks perfect, especially if we're getting the Storm Raven and the rumors of a compatible dread upgrade kit pan out.DarkRonin wrote:Are you sure about the first quarter? I hadn't heard about the upgrade kit yet........... Sounds interesting. Is it going to be a BA Librarian/furioso/Death company kit that is compatible with GK

It's just another month added to the wait. I just can't wait to see whats to come and how my friend will react to it. He already feels that Daemonhunters is a powerful army from my use of it at the shop. I can wait, but the thought of seeing his expression to new book will be priceless

Re: GK Rumors
Supposedly it's going to be a libby/furioso cross that will be compatible with GK's. So expect some panels/details with BA and GK chapter symbols etc and weapon options for both (assuming we get psycannons and maybe a force weapon arm). Might be worth it if GK's get access to the libby dread(which I'd like since Dreanoughts are interred heroes and our heroes are normally psykers)Constantine wrote:I hadn't heard about the upgrade kit yet...........
