Sadly, I'm going to be finishing up my Salamanders soon, but I'll be starting on Daemons with the very thought of pitting them against my Grey Knights. It will be AWESOME!!!

Re: GK Rumors
Found this on heresy Online:
Followed by:Katie Drake wrote:I got a bit of info today from someone who gets to playtest the rules before they're released. I get the impression that everything is finalized and there there won't be any more alterations made to the rules side of the Codex, so that means the book (Codex: Grey Knights) should be out soon.
I was allowed to ask three questions about the Codex.
Q1: How many points are the "standard" Grey Knights in the Codex?
A: Five points more than a Grey Hunter, but this person expects that people will mostly be using the Terminators as Troops who cost as much as a vanilla Terminator.
Q2: What are the possible Troops choices in the Codex?
A: Power Armored Grey Knights and the aforementioned Terminators.
I didn't get the impression that there was any FoC switchery available which would be strange but not impossible.
Q3: How does the Stormraven differ from the one in Codex: Blood Angels?
A: It's a Fast Attack choice, has a different weapon upgrade and the pilots are psykers (which I took to mean that the Stormraven could either cast or benefit from psychic powers).
A lot of this is just confirmation of what we've already heard, but hopefully it's still useful. I haven't read this thread to make sure that all of this hasn't been repeated, so feel free to delete if it's just mindless repetition.
If these are true it's not bad. 20pts for a guy with a power weapon is fairly reasonable(A wolf guard with PW is 23pts IIRC) According to another rumour monger the codex went to the printers on the 16th of Dec which means a)It's not that far off from release time so April is still looking good and b)They can't change things anymore so we should start seeing some more solid rumours in the coming months.Katie Drake wrote:I got super lucky and got to ask some more questions yesterday, but I really can't give out any details as I was somewhat sworn to keep my mouth shut. What I can say is that there aren't Ecclesiarchy units in Codex: Grey Knights. There are no Penitent Engines, though something similar is there and I didn't see Arco-Flagellants anywhere.
The rumor about a "special" Dreadnought is true. It has a really lame name (think Twilight).
I'd also like to retract my earlier statement about there being no FoC switching. I can't expand more on that (damned keeping promises ) as much as it'd be fun to.

This confirms many rumours posted on BoK and BoLS, a couple of weeks ago. If these are to be believed, then a Storm Raven with a Psychic power that boasts its AV to 14 is just amazing, can't wait for it!

Re: GK Rumors
The combined Inquisition codex rumour was debunked ages ago, maybe even by someone from GW itself(Jervis Johnson perhaps?) Can't remember where I read it atm but I definitely did since I was hoping for an Inq codex. GK stand alone, WH standalone and an Inq codex with ordos specific Inq unlocking the other codexes would have been awesome beyond words.rogueuk wrote:he says codex grey knights i thought they were going for inquistion all in one codex i hope you can still take inquisitors and IST
Current rumours for GK do say you can take IST in some form, although various claims of how include:regular troops as it is, troops unlocked by a character (Coteaz most likely) or archon-retinue like additions to an Inq.

Re: GK Rumors
I don't think I've seen a rumour yet that is to do with actually hunting the daemonic.
I have seen a lot of rumours about rules to help kill other space marines and give us armour 14 flyers: Often the type of thing a moron 13 year old would come up with. And I work in a school, so I know what I'm talking about here.
If everyone is a psyker, why are there librarians? Apart from keeping records, they wouldn't have any more power than a Captain. I'm sure they're very good at finding the file you're looking for, but wouldn't the chapter promote the strong psykers to go hunt daemons? If Librarians are this uber, where does the grand master fit in?
I wouldn't say it all sounds like crap.
But I can definitely smell bull.

Re: GK Rumors
As Sai said the whole Librarian thing... totally AGAINST the GK lore and also totally against the entire concept they are based upon.
Grenades and the eversor, perhaps. I mean grenades are pretty necessary these days, AND thats not really that amazing for the eversor.
Generally 2+poison weapons aren't power weapons. That being said even if they are he'll have what.... 8-9 attacks MAX. Probably WS 5, so he hits most people on 3's (down to 6 attacks hitting, 5 wounds, and then suddenly he doesn't do so much damage.
If he has WS 4 suddenly we are seeing 4-5 hits, 4ish wounds/dead). Assuming he kills 5 normal guys he won't make his points back before dieing. He would also need really high init for it to work against alot of other races.
Librarians.... seriously? There is no reason our BC/GM won't just receive proper psychic powers in line with other balancing to make them actually good.
"Stealth Kustom Force Field" - does the author even know what a USR, its U for universal, ie its in the rulebook and they wouldn't be just adding a USR in a codex.
Inverse Gate... possible but not that plausable.
Sai you must also be a very brave individual to work in a school, thats true GK stoicism if you ask me!

Re: GK Rumors
To be fair, there were Grey Knight Librarians in the Rogue Trader days. But thats when they were more like The Exorcists and Red Hunters.
I always found the Eversor worked fine the way he was. I like the way he has the option of using the 4+ poison attacks or just hack up toughness 3 guys with a powersword. Add in the meltabombs and he's capable of taking on most things: just not necessarily winning. But at the cost of 6 space marines with bolters, what should we be expecting? In terms of fluff their targets are usually standard humans, and all of the assassins are capable of taking down a command squad.
I did team an Eversor and 2 death cult assassins in a cityfight game once to kill Marneus Calgar and his honour guard. The two cultests died but Calgar went down which probably won me the game. The depressing thing is, in 5th edition I'd have broken even on kill points.
Teaching in a state school is hard work and soul destroying. I miss Japan. The classes were small and friendly. No-one expected results. They had awesome arcades.
No wargames though.

Re: GK Rumors
my point is :
i don't expect a lot from rumours, but i believe in the frenesy of rumours ... i truely think there's something working on
i'm not wishlisting... i will be happy with the new codex as it will be edited... it's just ... in all that logorrhea there must be some truth
