GK Rumors

WOW I hope this is true.
the stormraven is a give away.
The psycannon is beast if it is true.
The tanks are going to be nice.
Dreads are much better than before.
The justicar upgrade unit in my opinion my be Alaric who was BEAST in the omnibus. HE TOOK DOWN A TITAN STC!!! Sure it was infected by chaos but still.
What I really like the pie plate weapon. Come on many dead Deamons anyone?!?


I would like to know though if inval ignore is still available STANDARD. That was something that I always liked.

What is the paladin thing that I have seen mentioned many times in rumors I have seen? Is it a unit specific or is it a type of new unit??

With the jan /march release time seems likely but why in March??. The GW should do JAN because of the Christmas Buggy just about to leave and we, the public have new found funds to spend.

From what I gather the Paladin is basically a Terminator Justicar. Could be wrong but this is what it looks like to me.

Rules
Nemesis Force Weapons are said to be standardized now:
-Power armor users count as a power weapon that wounds daemons on a 2+
-Terminator users count as a force weapon with wounds daemons on a 2+
Most squads have anti psyker powers
Librarian Dreads with Grey Knight weapon options
Psycannon is said to be: 24" S:6 AP:3 with anti deamon/psyker abilities.

My thoughts: "Argh!" I like GK's being str6, it's a nice thing to have when it comes to hard hitting. No mention of it in these rumours, so maybe it'll come. Wounding Daemons on a 2+ automatically should be fun, but I really don't see the point in giving all Terminators Force Weapons - hello! Daemons are immune to their ID effect! Yes, they'd still be a power weapon, and anything would still have to fear them, but if they were str6, wound Daemons on a 2+ and just had power weapons, it'd still hurt but as they're not FW's, the cost wouldn't be overly inflated. I really doubt they'll introduce a rule for GK's which circumvents that rule, though it could work for the Grand Master perhaps.

I'm calling out the PAGK's all having power weapons as being honk right now - it'd be way too over the top for every standard trooper to have a power weapon. The previous rumour of Rending would be, I think, a nice middle ground.

Oddly enough, I predicted Psycannons to be AP3 aaaaaaaaaaages ago, so if this happens I'll have at least one thing right. Can't say as I appreciate the range drop if that's true though. :? But ... pie plate? Hmmm ...

Rumours is as rumours are - I have my doubts about this, it reeks of wishful thinking, half-truths and Chinese Whispers. I'm not holding my breath.

I don't recall seeing that this will be removed. It says that they are standardized but it doesn't say Str 4.

I like the PW for all PAGK but I agree it is overpowered and rending is a good middle ground and keep str 6 that was something that i always liked.

I like the Idea on psycannons having a blast option and can still fire 3 shots if moved. but I will take AP3 anyday. Makes marines think twice before moving to intercept GK.

If the walker is a new dread it better have options for 2 CCW but a Matrix 3 walker would be AWESOME if they fight like that in the movie.

Here's something interesting. On the USA GW site three new articles have appeared on the Daemonhunters' section...

Now these are not new articles as much as new to our section. Not even sure if it means anything, time will tell.

It is interesting to see those articles there now when they were never there before. I think it would have added a bit more to the section if they did add them there from the start, because we already have those units as part of what our Codex's say.

Through everything though, it is indeed very interesting to seem them there now when they were never there before.

One more thing, I just checked the Article section of the DH section of the Site, and the new ones aren't there yet. I only see it on the main page for DH, probably doesn't mean much at all because they may be changing it now as I speak, but if anyone is interested in checking these out as well, I suggest looking at the main page for DH.

I have looked for the articles also and alas they are not there (yet).

I have heard that there are leaked pictures of GK artwork and other things from the codex from Heresy. Has anyone seen these pics?

My thought these pics possibly don't exist.

Most of these so called leaked images are just fanwork from a person on deviantart who did them for fun and because grey knights are so badass.

Hya guys at Hersey the =I=, GK, Sob thread updated with a rumored playtest. It is very impressive how MUCH MORE elite the GK are now. IF this is a true playtest then... as the poster said "cry Deamon players... cry some more."

The hype is starting for GK in my opinion. I STILL CANT WAIT!!

For me I'm still waiting for that one sliver of concrete evidence. Until then I'm playing Captain Skeptical.

Notice when it shows the Retribution text that the I is actually an =I=. Could this be a clue to the release in March? it would fall in line with the other rumors.

I'm still cynical too, personally I think Dark Eldar deserve their release first for a variety of reasons, but at the same time most of the GK rumours are rediculously overpowered or make little to no sense.

I don't place too much faith in them being next although I am thinking early 2011 is quite likely.

While I think Dark Eldar deserve it more I find it odd DH/WH were taken off shelves due to the coming release(whenever it may be) yet DE models are still on sale, despite the fact they're in for an almost complete range overhaul model wise.

Oh oh I know the answer to this.....

DH/WH are gone because they stop making the products when 6-12 months from release and both armies still sold DE are still on the shelves because they don't sell that's all that's why they are getting a revamp first perhaps. Just ask yourself when did you last hear some one inshore ask " where are your dark elder?". Thought so.

Except DH/WH aren't exactly massive sellers, most players are veterans from 4th edition like me who haven't bought models in the last couple of years except the odd replacement. Just because they aren't selling isn't an excuse to keep them on the shelf. Imagine a new player goes in, splashes £200 on a shiny DE army and 3 months later out come some new(and probably gorgeous models) I foresee nerdrage at that point. Although given GW's complete lack of giving a sh*t when it comes to customers it wouldn't surprise me.

Actually when all the rumours started all the shops near me totally sold out of all the GK and WH stuff almost overnight.
The Dark Eldar stuff on the other hand is so but ugly that people who want to start the army or build theirs up would generally rather wait a year or two for the highly anticipated new models!!

I think both are available by direct order however from memory!

They sold out? I'm surprised. The only other DH player at my store considered selling his army when he heard a new codex was coming. New codexes mean shiny new models, and GW has been making some beautiful kits lately.

On the rumours front I've been reading up everything I can find. If even half of them are true I expect huge amounts of whining from every non DH player out there. On the plus side maybe people will finally shut up about my Wolves and BA

The main thing is that often the older models end up in very high demand for various reasons, and alot of people don't beleive that they will do better GKT and possibly not even better PAGK.

That combined with DH/WH being lightly stocked at the best of times meant they disappeared rather fast, though I know a few independant retailers who I managed to get them from a little while later. I bought an extra box of GKT's so I have about 14 now (mainly unpainted) just incase.

Honestly as cool as the old models are, I think the new ones have to be better, if only because they're plastic and plastic offers so much more options and choice for kitbashing and converting. This has made me wonder about something, I should go start the thread before I forget lol
