Right on that one Souba. Might be worth now thinking about taking him. Probably the cheapest way to get the S5 insta-kill. Even with the extra cost for his upgrade it still comes in cheaper than the B-C, 4 GKT and 2 p-cannons I run stock in my lists right now.

what i am wondering is the vindicare assassin. in his rule "deadshot" stands that the wounds caused by the vindicares shooting get allocated by the vindicares controlling player.
what i am wondering is.. if i shoot the turbo penetrator in a 5 man squad or so and cause 2 wounds, can i really chose to pick wich models get it (even multiple models with more than just one wounds)? or do i have to remove models like described in the BRB entry on: "UNITS OF MULTIPLE-WOUND MODELS" ?

From what I remember from reading the turbo-penetrator description, the vindicare's player nominates the model hit. So, it's exactly like before except that vindicare's can't shoot into CC anymore. If the 5 man model had a sarge w/ PF, you hit, wound and he's gone. If you're shooting into a unit of 3 tyranid warriors for example, and 2 warriors are down to 1 wound each and the 3rd still has 2 wounds, you hit, wound and bam! the warrior w/ the 2 wounds goes bye bye if you choose him Very Happy

I believe there's the option to swap out the SB for a heavy flamer. You then just have to get the 5 pt psybolt upgrade to essentially make it a 'cinnie.

Can you tell me where it says the Dk can move 12" because im getting mixed thoughts about it. could it possibly say in the personal teleport homer profile?

Quick question, do psycannons and incinerators still ignore invulnerable saves?

Post by DarkRonin Tue Mar 15, 2011 12:23 pm

Kinda sucks, but to be expected with how it's not S7 with Rending.

Anyway, after looking over the posts about the Nemesis Force Sword, I noticed how at base cost, our HQ's will generally have a 3+ Invulnerable Save in CC.

Looking over the Brotherhood Champion page in the leaked book, I took note of how it's Anointed Blade counts as a Nemesis Force Sword that can Re-roll wounds. Does it still count as it did in the leak and does it still have an Iron Halo? If so, that would be a sick cheap HQ choice.

Also, what do Digital Weapons do in the codex anyway? I noticed that the Space Monkeys have them, but so do some of our HQ's have it available as an option. If it's a single Re-Roll to Wound, it seems kinda silly to give it to a Brotherhood Champion whose Anointed Blade already lets him Re-Roll to Wound rolls.

And does the Brotherhood Champions one stance, "Blade Shield," allow re-rolls of failed saves for the entire unit or just the Champion?

@DR: Yes, the Brotherhood Champion still has 3++ in CC because of the anointed weapon. Digital weapons is standard (allows for one re-roll to wound). Blade shield only allows re-rolls for the BC.

Okay, thanks for clarifying that. I'll need to see how to work with it then. But still, re-rolling attacks made against him would be sweet in tying up the unit longer, especially if it has a hidden power fist.

New Dex Q&A - Page 5 Empty Re: New Dex Q&A

Post by DarkRonin Tue Mar 15, 2011 2:09 pm

Sorry for the double post, but my head was spinning around with ideas to expand upon my GM Conversions to cover Eight Grand Masters and looking over Stern's new stats, and realized that he now has a 3++ Save in CC. Also his "Strands of Fate," rule allows the opponent to re-roll rolls at any point in the game?

Knowing that the Supreme Grand Master who from a fluff point of view makes him a VERY UNRELIABLE HQ to take, has a Storm Shield. I noticed that his Titan Sword says that it's a Master-Crafted Force Weapon in the leaked codex. Is this a reference to a Nemesis Force Sword (NFS) and has it been changed? If it actually counts as a NFS then we're looking at such a SOLID HQ in CC with a 2++ Invulnerable Save!!!

One more thing, he might be the best bet to counter other Grey Knights aside from having a Librarian on hand. Pretty much every single Grey Knight Unit counts as a Psyker, so he would be striking at S10 the entire game.

I pretty much doubt this to be true due to the wording in the leaked book, but having not seen the official codex yet, I'm just curious about this.

Draigo's Titan sword is not considered a nemesis force sword (not to my knowledge anyway -- will check later) so he'll only have 3++ for the SS. However, it is still a force weapon (I think) that is S10 vs daemons and psykers.

On Stern's "Strands of Fate", I believe the answer is yes, the opponent can use the re-roll at any time in the game.

Come to think of it, if we give Psybolt Ammunition to our vehicles, like both the Storm Raven and Land Raider Crusader; would we be losing out on the Defensive weapons rule for the Hurricane Bolters since they would then be considered S5?

That's correct Brother. So taking that upgrade for the LRC and SR has its pros and cons.
However, for the LRC, if you don't pay the 10 pts for a MM, and you get the psybolt upgrade, you can stil move 6" and fire your S7 rending assault cannon as well as one of your S5 hurricane sponsons. Not too shabby for anti-infantry (I more often than not miss w/ my LRC's MM anyway Razz )
