by the way I am starting my own GK gaming club, details are below.. enjoy the read..

CHAPTER 666 is a gaming club specifically for Grey Knight only players!, The £10 one off membership cost is to help towards set up and the admin of the club including funding its monthly newsletter, called the Liber Daemonica and to go towards setting up a website and producing and delivering membership cards. The club will be organizing gaming weekends and tournaments against demon and chaos opponents, (my brother in law is part of a chaos based gaming club! so plenty of enemy will be available) we will also be organising other social gatherings....Toasting the emperor and fallen heroes.

We aim to have a club polo shirt and jacket as well as gaming related products designed with the clubs logo which will be designed by its members, voted on and put into place A.S.A.P. we are trying to secure a discount with a local independent retailer for discounts on grey knight models and the club will be registered with Games Workshop itself.

The club will be run by myself initially and so that you know my experience, I am an ex retail manager of 15 years experience including two years as a Games Workshop manager, with 5 years experience of running various membership based clubs, and i have been gaming for over 20 years. I aim to make this club something special with your help of course.

Although based in South Wales, we aim to travel around the country and the club is open to anyone over the age of 18 in the UK and Ireland and I am happy to except memberships from Europe and the rest of the world so long as you can converse in English (otherwise things might get difficult).

To show the difference between newer members from more experienced ones, and for pure fun of course, you will be given a membership rank of Neophyte upon joining and be automatically upgraded after every period of 6 weeks, 6 days and 6 hours through different ranks as follows, Battle Brother, Justicar, and Crux Terminatus. If you help out with club business then a further rank of Brother Captain is available, and yes there’s even a rank of Grand master for those who have a seat on the ruling council's high conclave, (club founder, president and vice president roles..)..

So if you want to join and start meeting other Grey knight players and start gaming regularly, share tips and tactics and enjoy a whole new level of gaming experience with your Grey Knights, as well as receive discounts on your Grey knight models and enjoy a monthly magazine then join know....

ok I live in england I go to the games workshop in hanely(Which is in staffordshire). I am doing a begginers course there as I have just started. I collect space Marines though I am planning to add Grey Knights to my army.

Which Chapter are you allying you GKs with?

Ultramarines but once I get enough grey knights I will use them from now on. I have a question. If I'm playing against someone with a chaos daemon army should I have my space Marines AND my GK or just MY GK.

It depends.
Do you have enough GKs (points wise) to face them alone?
Apart from that, I would say it is up to you.

I don't have any yet but I will get somke soon

In that case the pure GK force is not your best option

GKs have strengths and weaknesses just like any other force. However GKs are an Elite force and do not field very many models compared to equivilant points costs oponants, GKs also have limited anti tank weaponry options. These are definalty not teriible features of teh army, but do not fit everyones playing style.

Because you already have a solid Ultramarine force I would suggest using that and incorporating your GKs into that force untill you are comfortable playing with them, and have enough models to play them indipendantly.

An alternative to this option would be to use your Ultramarines as proxies for the GKs (with permission from your opponants of course) This way you would have a great starting GK force and will be more than capable of returning Daemon scum to the warp with you 2 tactical squads, Termnators, Dread, And GM/Captain!!!

Ok I will have my GK(when I get them)as part of my Ultramarines and then when I have a solid GK army and I used to using them in battles I will have them as an independent force. Thanks for the advice brother C
