Re: Nemesis Dread Knight Discussion
The argument is that the doom fist rules say that it's a dreadnought close combat weapon, and the dreadnought close combat weapon rules say that it doubles the strength for 'walkers'. As the dreadknight is not a walker it doesn't get the double strength. I'd say it's double strength because it is quite clearly a massive power fist for an eco-exo-suit, but if you go with the rules as written it's S6.You are correct, it follows the dreadnought ccw rules so it's double strength.
The FAQ on the sword backs up the S10 argument, and you'd have thought that if the hammer did improve the strength its points cost would be higher.
I figure that if I don't know the person I'm playing it's probably a good idea to clear it up pre-game. I'd prefer S10, but otherwise I figure I can always make smash attacks and hope the dice are kind.

Re: Nemesis Dread Knight Discussion
instead of a big discussion about if Dreadnought ccw you guys should just look into the rulebook:
page 60:
"DREADNOUGHT CLOSE COMBAT WEAPONS
Some troops are armed with huge close combat weapons
- hammers, wrecking balls, claws and other crushing
implements of death.
Dreadnought close combat weapon: S x2 Ap 2 Melee"
there is no mention of "only double strength for walkers" or anything like it. so wreck at S 10 and fine

Excellent, I haven't been cheating.
Now I know to ignore internet folks (,present company excluded).
And knowing is half the battle.
