Wow, the LOTR movie made their balrog version look as if it was on steroids and arnold Schwarzenegger as his trainer. The model set comes with attachable bigger furry flaming metal balrog balls as an upgrade. I understand that it was in the book and script, but a magic exploding arrow shot by legollas to the enemy's groin would bring any beast down.

Unless I am mistaken......and I am never mistaken The Balrog DID NOT PASS!
I love the Balrog in the movie, and the new plastic GW model.....That old one is a little under scaled IMHO
I hope that one day the Simarilian gets made into a movie! There would be some truly EPIC battle scenes and special effects in it!!!!!

There would be indeed! That would be an enjoyable movie, as the previous 3 are. Aren't they making 'The Hobbit' into a movie?

No point in letting the thread die. If you ask me, as long as you have something worth sharing then you might as well share it!
So sad to be out of 40k things though. I've really gotten used to seeing all these cool old models regularly!

Yes they are although I think Peter Jackson is not directing it.
The Silmarillon will be freakin' awesome. The power levels during the First Age of Middle Earth is off the charts! During that time, "normal" elven warriors can go toe to toe w/ Balrogs. Heck, one of my favorites, Ecthelion of the Fountain, Captain of the Guard for Turgon of Gondolin, fought Gothmog, the Lord of the Balrogs one on one and killed it (although he died too).

Is it going to be like the star wars trilogy squence? They love going past forward like in Xmen 1st class. I wish to read the Silmarillon. I read the Hobbit and the Lord of the rings trilogy. It was nice.
Oh was that brother Aubec showing yet more 35k, I mean 40k models? Sorry brother, someone posts hanging balrog balls and we go off on a tangent.

They sure have nice teeth in the black library book covers and most open mouthed 40k SM models. What do SM eat anyway? In the books , they drink fluids more than anything else, and with all that aggression they have to be eating red meat.

Hmmm. Maybe there's some made up future technology that automatically cleans their teeth. I'm sure the servitors are involved some way or another
I would imagine they mostly drink fluids or have some kind of convenient MRE-type food that doesn't waste their time.
