So the new codex is upon us. And the first thing that hits you is JUST HOW FEW MODELS YOU'LL BE ABLE TO FIELD!

There isn't anything in the codex that can really be taken at under 150 points to be meaningful but this is the idea i've had so far:

HQ

Librarian
Teleport Homer
Warp Rift
The Summoning
Sanctuary
The Shrouding
Master Crafted Nemesis Force Sword
190

ELITES

Paladin Squad (5 man)
Master Crafted Psycannon
300

Purifiers (10 man)
Incinerators x 2
Nemesis Force Halberds x 5
Nemesis Daemon Hammers x 2
260

TROOPS

Grey Knight Strike Squad (10 man)
Psycannon (one on Justicar Master Crafted)
205
Rhino w/ Psybolt Ammo & HK Missile
55

Grey Knight Strike Squad (10 man)
Psycannon (one on Justicar Master Crafted)
205
Rhino w/ HK Missile & Psybolt Ammo
55

HEAVY SUPPORT

Land Raider Redeemer w/ Warp Stabilisation Field, Psyflame Ammo, Multi-Melta. Psybolt Ammo
280

Purgation Squad (5 man)
4 Psycannons
Psybolt Ammunition
200

Purgation squad sets up in cover, Land Raider is filled with Purifiers on edge of table (preferably out of sight of enemy). Rhinos start wherever they can. Librarian and Paladin squad deep strike on to table with Librarian casting Summoning on Land Raider!

Your Strike squads should be 215pts, but I didn't check the other stuff.

Also I think cut back on the master-crafted weapons, psychic powers, HK missiles and psybolt ammo/psyflame ammo from some of the units. Get a Rhino for your purifiers.

Just to note Psycannons don't get a Strength bonus from psybolt ammo, as they already use it. I also think cut the psycannon from the Paladin squad and give them Falchions or warding staff, since I assume that's your CC unit riding in the LR right?

For 150pts, get a Dreadnought, I highly recommend a Dual Twin-linked Autocannon Dread with psybolt ammo (135pts).

Otherwise balanced unit selection and good list overall! Smile

Purifier squad is riding in Land Raider. Plan is to deep strike the librarian and paladin squad in, then use Summoning to bring the Land Raider across the table right into enemy lines.

I think my strike squads are out now......might change to 9 man.

One of the things that I'll say about that is that it is has the potential to go bad really fast if a mishap occurs for the deep strike or your reserve rolls are bad and your army gets delayed until halfway through the game.

If it works then it will definately wreck havoc on your opponent.

As an alternative tactic, try moving your librarian and paladins in the LRR at cruising speed, then use your librarian to summon purifiers on the battlefield to his location, that way you don't have to worry about deep strike or reserve rolls. But you do have to make sure that the LRR doesn't die on the way there.

Try between the two tactics and find which is best, since I obviously haven't played the new GKs yet I'm just infering from 3rd Ed. DHs and how unpredictable DS could be.

I agree with Primarch; my thoughts exactly. Deepstriking your paladins and libby in this case is a bit too random and dangerous. Also, although you can teleport that Land Raider, as I have done many times, it is NOT protected by the teleport homer and will probably scatter...and whenever you'd want to someone it you'd probably be in cover, surrounded,m etc.

Short story, avoid summoning the Land Raider if you can. Thats...an absurd chunk of your points with the Purifiers inside it to lose horribly or end up delayed.

The Purifiers should hang out in a razorback/rhino, the Paladins inside the LR I would say. I like how you've fit in a purgation squad; I certainly want to. Otherwise, its a nice balance of forces.

Edit: I would suggest you drop MC on your justicars, get a Daemon Hammer in the squad so that they can wreck vehicles with str 10 (in conjunction with hammerhand) or whatever else needs to DIE.
