they ARE just Marines in silver power armour, trained and equipped to fight deamons.
Space Wolves ARE just Marines in grey armour, with long fanglike teeth and a preference to assault battles and close range fighting.


Not that anyhing about Space Marines really scream "normal" anyway....

I dont know what you heretics believe you are, but raising yourself to saints is blasphemy and the Inquisition will probably virusbomb your homeplanet for even thinking that you are "above" Space Marines (because they are the most holy Emperors own sons, and if you raise yourselves above them you claim to be on equal grounds with Him!)

Nah, not on equal as the emperor.

Just below custodians and above space marines.

But what am i talking of, grey knights are just simple servants of the emperor, faithful warriors who believe in nothing less than the emperor.

Who cares if a grey knight is better or worse than anyone else, as long as he is faithful to the emperor, no one can beat him!

Its not really that GK are 'better' than SM, its just SM are lame, and therefore everything is better (Soz I hate SM)

GK can never become a saint because they don't beleive in that kind of recognition, and also are not in a position where they would ever meet many of the saintly requirements. (The saint was this mysterious lady in the story, not a GK)

You'll have to excuse the bias in these forums, since we are mainly GK players, but GK are trained harder, have less chance to succeed, are powerful psykers and have the best gear in the universe.
Just been reading the first Horus book, where it says that one in one thousand can become a SM, the same isn't true of a GK.

The arguement that GK are just specialised SM is kinda flawed, but most GK players just agree not to hurt SM players feelings and to stop the arguement.

If your going to look at nothing else a GK costs almots 10 points more. Thats 'better' than a basic SM.
Where they can be hamstrung is in alot of the cheap transport and heavy weapon upgrades that SM can get.

But above all this a GK would never really compare himself with anyone else, he would simply do his utmost with the weight of the universe on his shoulders, and destroy the enemy of the emporer as he was created to do, especially the daemons!

And SM aren't really the emperors son's that would be more the primarchs, SM are like his slightly strange nephews

GKs ARE better. They ALL have psychic abbility, and carry storm bolters and force weapons around one handed as standard!!!
They are the elite of the elite. The fluff always says that the GKs are able to fight foes that even the space marines cannot, and lest we forget that every other chapter (of space marines) has had some of their members fall to chaos except for................wait for it ................You guessed it!!!! The Grey Knights LOL
I like marines as much as the next guy, I just feel that GKs have a slight edge, but its just my opinon

Yes, gk have resistance, skill and power where "normal" marines do not!

And of course a gk would woop normal marine arse, it's his job to be elite of the elite!

Can't have anything less when fighting deamons!

Whereas the gk himself would only see himself as a tool, a weapon in the hand of the emperor.

It's becouse gk are humble and fierce.

I've read fluff that says GK's use the gene seed of the emperor, whereas all other Marine chapters use gene seed of a primarch. That in itself should give the average GK some advantage over a normal SM.

I love the GK imagery on that, it makes me want to paint, but it's 11pm.

Most of the fluff that GK's use the emporer's gene-seed is rumour or guess work rather than actual facts. But that being said it certainly does seem likely.
