Keep your infantry close to your tanks, tanks in cities of death are highly vunerable with out infantry protection.

When in a Cities of Death battle the best heavy weapon to go for is the Heavy flamer/Incinerator (For Grey Knights), burn your openent out, dont shoot at the wall he's hiding behind!

Troops with Transports are also reccommended here, it gives them alot more protection agains small-medium arms fire.

Spend 22pts on a inquisitor to take a vindacator assasin point well spent in cities of death trust me. Remember he can shoot whoever he wants with his pistol too

I believe the most convenient way to get incinerators is with a purgation squad with 4 incincerators in a razorback (with psybolts of course). Only 150 points for a squad that can barbeque entire squads of anything squishier then marines. Even marines will be wounded on a 2+, so will have to attempt many armor saves.

I am a huge fan of assault marines in cityfight. I haven't used Knights in an actual cityfight game yet, but Interceptors have proven invaluable for eliminating a pesky/remote sniper roost that would have otherwise divided my forces. They then teleport shunt back into the main fight to devestating effect.

I'm doing a close quarters action scenario this evening and will hopefully have time to post back and let you know how everything worked out.

Against guard in close quarters, Dreadknights with Heavy Incinerators turned out to do the trick. The rest was just a matter of mopping up.

If you play the QCA mission here, strike/interceptor squads with psycannons work well too, since they count as stationary. This mission plays into the knights hands perfectly, both attacking and defending.
