This is a cool diorama.
I think it captures some of the diversity of environments that Gks have to face when fighting chaos (like chess board worlds ).

That Thunderhawk is freakin' awesome. Too bad those aren't real GK Termies piling out. To tell you the truth I like the simpler Dread. Though definitely extremely well done, the other looks too 'parade-ground' for my taste.

I'm inclined to agree with you about the Dread Brother. Simpler definatly does fit the feel of the Knights better. Like the saying goes...Less is more.

The gunship is awesome, and simple conversions shouldn't be dissed just becouse they are not as flashy as others might be!

I am not the biggest fan of how the GKs have been painted, but the Landraiders are AWESOME!

Wow, those are awesome pics! My guess is the land raider is mainly air brushed though and then followed up by hand brush shading and highlighting.

I agree...........It is my plan however, to replicate the effect by hand/brush

Gosh there are some amazing Dreadknight conversions out there... It really shows you how boring the original pose is.

Do you think that is washes that give the metal that dark effect, or is it mixing metallics with black
I would LOVE to replicate this affect on my GKs, so please help me figure this out.

@Constantine: I think it is simply the use of washes that gives it the darker matte effect. The subtle highlights add to the overall "dark" result as well IMO.

yeah you get those results pretty good with a dark wash, like badab black.. what also could have been used is the dark shades can from army painter

I agree. Airbrush to get the smooth metallic and washes to get the colour and shade.

The conversion itself is amazing too. Best dreadknight I've seen to be honest.

those copyrights for the countrys suck hard... i have some issues with it too on some other vids...

I can't say for certain but alot of the really good metallics work is actually done in exactly the same fashion as NMM. Its not very popular compared to NMM but done properly it looks absolutely amazing.
