CM Troop 2: 10 man Marine squad including Sergeant (I think) with powerfist, 1 Plasma rifle & Khorne Icon Bearer.
Game Type: Capture & Control

I lost the role and my opponent chooses to deploy and go first. He deployed right on the half way line and as the board was only around 40 inches it left me very little room to deploy up to 18 inches away.
Map Layout
Deployment
Turn 1
CM Troop 1 who had been joined by the CM HQ Chaos Lord moved round the trees.
CM Troop 2 remained standing behind hedge.
He decided to shoot at me but only rolled 18 on the Shrouding test for both squads and therefore could not see me.
All GK troops remained stationary.
GK Troop 1 fired at CM Troop 1 and CM HQ killing a couple of Chaos Marines with bolters.
GK Troop 2 fired at CM Troop 1 and CM HQ killing a couple of Chaos Marines with bolters.
GK HQ attempted a successful Scourging psychic attack but only killed one Chaos Marine with a bolter.
Turn 2
CM Troop 1 who had been joined by the CM HQ Chaos Lord moved further round the trees and into the open.
CM Troop 2 remained standing behind hedge.
Both squads passed the shrouding and fired at my Grey Knights but failed to inflict any wounds they all either missed or were saved.
GK Elite deepstrike in behind enemy remainder of Grey Knight force remain in starting position.
GK Troop 1, GK Troop 2 GK HQ unleashes at Chaos Lord and his squad decimating them and leaving the Chaos Lord unwounded together with the Chaos Marine with plasma rifle and Icon bearer. GK Elite then unleash their 2 psycannons and storm bolter decimating the remainder of the squad leaving the Lord on his own unwounded.
Turn 3
Chaos Lord moves towards GK Troop 2.
CM Troop 2 turns around and marches towards GK Elite.
CM Troop 2 opens fire at GK Elite killing the regular Terminator with storm bolter.
Chaos Lord assaults GK Troop 1 killing three PAGK, remaining PAGK and Justicar survive the initial attack and secondary wound roles and Justicar inflicts one wound on the Chaos Lord.
GK Troop 2 remain stationary GK HQ assaults Chaos Lord and remainder of Troop 1 remain in CC, while GK Elite move towards objective to try and contest it.
GK Troop 2 unleash storm bolters at CM Troop 2 behind the bushes taking out 2 Chaos Marines with Bolters and GK Elite launch a psycannon volley at CM Troop 2 only inflicting 1 more Chaos Marine with bolter death.
GK HQ charges down the hill to attack Lord and dies straight away before landing a blow. Justicar and remain PAGK of that squad fight on inflicting a wound, causing close combat to be a draw.
Turn Four
CM Troop 2 continues marching towards GK Elite, while Choas Lord remains in close combat with remainder of GK Troop 1.
CM Troop 2 fires a volley none of which inflict any wounds on the GK Elite
CM Troop 2 then charge GK Elite killing both of them but not before taking one of the Chaos Marines with a bolter down. Remainder of CM Troop 2 consolidates in to GK objective the Choas Marine Headquarters.
Chaos Lord kills PAGK but Justicar survives and inflicts one more wound, causing close combat to be a draw.
GK Troop 2 assault Chaos Lord losing one PAGK while between them the two Justicars inflict the final wound and killing the Choas Lord.
We called it a draw at that point as I was within 3 inches of my Headquarters and he was in his Headquarters and as it was only a training game we were not taking it too seriously.

Nice batrep. And maps too! Looks like you held your own. Seems Scourging didn't do a lot so may I make a suggestion? Always take an incinerator with your GKT squad. I know I sound like a broken record but my 'cinnie-armed Termie ALWAYS takes out 2,3 or 4 times his cost each game. So what were your thoughts on the battle Spartan?

I quote a description for a flamer skill in dark heresy, (40k roleplay)
"Burn burn burn, none shall escape your fiery wrath!!!"
Incinerators are cool, really cool, and about the best flamer you can get!

Re: First 40k Battle For 15 Years
What I learnt from it was that Dawn of War is the worst map type for Grey Knights it means that the enemy or too close to us from the start to take advantage of shrouding and our range.
Also like I have said squad numbers was a big thing and would have sacrificed my 3 terms. for more PAGK.
Also the Brother Captain is poop and I think I will try a similar match but with a Grand Master and more PAGK.
Also I did learn my overall plan would work, that is too keep the opo at arms length and thin them out with our fire power and finish them off when we get into CC.
