would love to be a librarian but if brother constantine wishes to do so il skip to either the techmarine or the purifier. dependent on what the rest goes (prefer techmarine)

Now for the story

The inquisitor awaited the kill team in his office. He turn on the display of the planet in the edge of is solar system. It had a one major city as the appointed “Planetary President” like to keep a close eye on his citizens. Not an imperial or Tau settlement. The majority of the tarring is swamp and wasteland form past age litter with technological relics and unmained minerals. Ruling out Exterminatus… At least not yet.

I'd suggest create a recruitment thread.

In this thread you will pitch the full idea to the players, flesh out the background and discuss how often updates will happen.
Generally just finish the setting, the characters and the rules for the game.

Trust me, this is useful. I've done this as a gm before.

Then you post a second thread with the actual game!


If you need any help i'm more than willing to offer it! And i will with happiness follow this story.
Although since techpriest was not a valid option, i guess i will not be joining. Perhaps as an NPC of sorts later on? Who knows.

I've written a Pm to the Gm (rhyme, aw yeeeeeah.) And i've given him a short list of things to add in the recruitment thread.

And as for playing a techmarine.... but they aren't real techpriests.
I dunno, i just love the techpriest robes, the axe and the mumbo jumbo they pull all the time.
Techmarines feel like techpriest light to me. And they don't have the robes! (Huge minus, techpriest robes = KICKASS)


I'll be honest with you.
If i in the recruitment thread get some inspiration for a character, i will join. Otherwise i will observe with great enthusiasm.

So i guess we're waiting for a recruitment thread!

We'll be playing on a war stricken planet assaulted buy the vile forces of chaos. That is believed to be trying to pull it into the warp and turn it into a demon world. The inquisition has other ideas and deploys a force of their own the Grey Knights


For the campaign the players is a Grey Knight with the choices of Paladin, Purifier, Techmarine, Apothecary, or Librarian. Wargear can be taken from the Grey Knights Codex as long as it is compatible with the unit. Note Librarians can also take powers.

You can even come up with a cool campaign name!

"World asunder" or "Torn between fates" are good names.
Perhaps even "Test of Faith".

Being admin has its boons


Me personally usually play without rules and just with writing what you do. It is far more susceptiple to bad manners and playing your character over the top and such.
I remember an RP i joined where one player flew around and destroyed dreadnoughts (as in the spaceship size) needless to say the player characters power level did not allow for punching massive space ships in half so we purged his character and his race from the RP.
He later returned and asked for forgiveness for he found out how we were supposed to play the game after he had done all this crazy stuff.
IIRC we let him in after all, but we watched him closely.

The main problems with dice is that they are a bit annoying.

As you can see the dice-roll breaks up the action into two posts, which divides the post at times unessecarily and spreads out the action so you have to scroll an awful lot to see what's going on.
The pro of using the GK forum diceroller is that only admins and moderators can cheat. Since you need to edit IL's automated post.
You could use another diceroller, but that's so easy to cheat it's not even funny. Or the GM could roll all dice, but that will slow down the game.

As you can see, there is is always pro's and cons with every choice. You just need to figure out the best option for your game.

I'm trying to see that the players require only two D6s.

for myself i need some more days, have a little much to do currently so i can only check the board on my smartphone most the time and typing on that thing is not as funny as most people make it out to be

But smart-phones that are so good and beat computers and gaming consoles and paper at everything that ever was and ever will be.

And no, smart-phones don't do any of that.

Luckily play-by-post rpg's don't need as much planning as pen and paper, but i still need a start...
