New 2k list, possible advice

hello all, I am new to the forum and wanted to post a new list i am currently working (got a good deal on 2 stormraven and 2 dreadnoughs so i wanted to use them) on and get the opinion/ideas of my fellow Grey Knights players. I typically play against Necrons, Space Wolves, Dark Eldar & Blood Angels.

Welcome to the forums

Please try to avoid putting individual upgrades point costs, as GW see that as an infriment of their copyright or some such and can attempt to close the forum or like.

Psybolt ammo does not work on Psycannons so no point in buying that for your GM if he has the Heavy weapon. have a look at Psychotroke grenades and see what you think of their effects... worth the points in my opinion.

Again Psybolt ammo on the terminators you are paying 20pts to give 4 guys +1 str - so that equatates to 5pts a model - that is expensive - so often not worth it unless you are fielding a unit of 10
Even more so on the smaller unit.
Gunships can carry 6 terminators so try maximising your units out.

With your NDK's you have a close range weapon and a longer range one (that scatters) you need to change them so they are focused either on shotting at range (which psyriflemen are a lot better at doing.) or becoming CC monsters. Swap the Hvy psycannon out for Greatswords - those rerolls are good.

I would say you need to look at getting more MEN on the board at the moment your list has 11 and one of those you don't want in combat. How are you planning to deal with taking an objective and keeping it?

Thanks for the advice. also, got rid of the point values in original post.

Now, what are your thoughts on the following:

With NDK, do the 2 doomfist, as you get the +1 attack during assault for the additonal hand weapon (do you feel the additional points to allow a reroll, but minus 1 attack is worth it? or would i still get the additional attack)

Also, with the NDK, should i drop the psycannon, keep the incinerator, and add the personal teleporter (def get him into combat fast then )

also, i was thinking for the units do 5 in 1 raven, 5 plus Lib in the other, good, bad idea?

interesting list even though you got a very small body count ... could be a difficulty in 2/3 of the scenarios that are objective based

true true, does great at kill points though haha... but with the Grandmaster, i am able to make some of my units scoring, which helps, but more troops probably would be helpful.. Maybe drop one dreadknight, and one stormraven, and go with 2 strike squads in rhinos? or would more terminators be better?

Well you get an extra attack verses rerolls on to hit and rerolls on to wound and rerolls on AP... but it costs you points...
If you want a combat monster with NDK do use a PT - that 30" move really will scare your opponent even more so if you back it up with incinerator wielding interceptors.

Using 2x SR to deliver 2 units of 5 terminators and a GM will work - however nothing to stop you from buying them as 1 unit of 10men and getting the upgrades etc for them and then combat squading them into the SR's as those are not Dedicated transports anyway, and adding the GM to one. You just need to be sure to buy another troop choice unit (GKSS in a rhino as you suggest). Maybe our Brothers can confirm if that is possible or not? (the combat squad into 2x SR)

You could change from a SR to a LRC and get a 8 man Termi squad into that. then put a PA in the SR - purifiers... there are so many options. Have a look at the other lists on this forum and formulate a plan... use what you want and have for models and try it, that is the best way to find out what works... expect to loose some games to start, but you will soon get into the swing of it and find out what works for you.
