Thanks Brother!BrentK wrote:Brother ossidium, your attitude is phenomenal. Looking forward to the conversion thread!
My first ever 40k unit was a librarian conversion (2 hours on the sword hand to cut it perfectly to keep the tubes...)
now my second will be a GM conversion YAY!

My Brothers,
I've decided to use the emperor's champion, and give him the nemesis great sword from my dread knight kit.
Pics as soon as I get the pieces and get started

Is that the Citadel FineCast Librarian? Looks very nice, and I don't see any flaws in it. Did you have any problems with the model?

Hello Brother DonFer!
That is indeed the citadel finecast libby. It was the first 40k unit i ever made, so I cannot compare it to anything else in terms of converting... but it was easy. I mean, if I could do it I am sure anything else who has converted would be even better with it
No problems at all other than not much to customize without cutting/converting

Re: My first 1500pt list
Hello Brothers,
How strong is a Dreadnaught with 2x Twin-Linked Autocannons, with Psybolt ammo? (135pts)...
Autocannon: 48" Str 7, AP 4 and Heavy 2.
Twin Linked autocannon with psybolt ammo means:
48" Str 8, AP 4 and Heavy 2 x2 times...
Does this mean one dreadnaught with 2x twin linked would shoot 8 times at STR 8????? WOWOW??? this seems a little ridiculous to me...
Like, should I be adding these in somehow? And can they join squads?

A psyfleman dread can fire 4 twin-linked S8 shots.
And no, they can't join squads

Thanks Rivan!
how good is 4 twin-linked S8 shots? it sounds a little insane lol
I got confused because it says autocannon has heavy 2... i thought that was 2 heavy shots each

Re: My first 1500pt list
2 heavy shots each is correct so 2 autocannons will give you the 4 shots.
4 twin-linked S8 shots means you will almost always cause 4 wounds on infantry. Multi-wound models that have T4 or lower will fear you since 1 missed armor save or cover save means instant death
4 S8 shots are also great against light armor

Thanks!
so the twin linked feature does not add any additional shots, just rerolls to wound?

Re: My first 1500pt list
Actually, twin-linked allows you re-roll to hit. So w/ a BS4 dreadnought, you need 3's to hit with re-rolls.
If you're shooting at T4 infantry, each hit will wound on a 2+

Re: My first 1500pt list
The computation for BS is always: subtract the BS from 7 and that's what you need to hit with.
BS4: 7 - 4 = 3 so you need 3's or better to hit. But remember 1 is always a miss. If the BS is higher than 6 (aka vindicare), there's a special second roll for it (you can find it in the rule book, just can't remember the page).

Sorry if it was confusing, I meant you will almost always wound on a 2+

Re: My first 1500pt list
You're confusing "to wound" vs "to hit"
The dread will need 3+ to hit because of BS4 and the S8 shot will need 2+ to wound vs. T4 models.

Re: My first 1500pt list
Definitely nice to have at least 1 of these. Just remember that redundancy with units is very effective. Simply put, 1 psyfleman dread is nice but 2 is MUCH BETTER. The same goes for everything else (LR's, RB's, etc).
The concept is target saturation. If you have multiple units on the table that can be a threat, your opponent will have to split his fire or use target priority, meaning he won't (usually) be able to concentrate fire on just one target.
Now, you don't necessarily have to have 2 psyflemen dreads as long as you have other units that can serve the same function. In a 2000pt list I used recently against a CSM army, I only had 1 psyfleman dread. But I had 3 RB's as well as a LRR. Target saturation really helped because he had 8 obliterators.
