Re: French Games Day 2011
my friend (whose i go every year in the GD) is benoit Menard the winner in the category Monsters and riders; his model (the running giant) is incredible because it seems very simple at the first glance, but when you look at it closer you see tons of details and technics that you lost first time ... incredible work (about 700 hours of work including re-sculpting and painting).
The Khorne deamon prince too is incredible but you have to see him in the day light because if not you loose lots of details too.
because of my friendship with Ben, i had all those pieces in hands ... a real pleasure i can assure you !!

Re: French Games Day 2011
Is the Giant pictured in the link Brother?
Is it the Blood Bowl oger in the top right corner?
If so, that truely is a fantastic model, it must be cool having a friend that is that skilled... Does he share techniques with you?

it's the giant running with a man in his left hand and a mass in the right...
my friend is cool and try to share with me ... but it's like asking to Leonardo da Vinci to teach physics to dumb and dumber !!
it's not about technics ... it's about talent ... he (and his friends) has the talent, i have not : plain and simple.
so when he says to me : work with lavishes (20 or 30 for one part of the model) i understand it, i try it, even i can improve myself, but i make it like an ork when he makes it like an Eldar Archonte....
btw i tried to buy the GK from David Weaselynck ... halas he answers me : nope !! ... but you know he comes back in Tours in june for a painting animation during a week end : so i'll try again !!

Re: French Games Day 2011
i found that this afternoon in my archives
i don't remember if i had post those ... but i think they deserve the honour
the 2009 french Slayer and the silver golden deamon in the category that was at that time the upper basket of French painters :
by David Waeselynck : the WAR dwarf slayer (entire creation from the bones ... cause he made the skeleton first) (slayer)
and the Archaon of my friend Benoît Menard who should have won the slayer that year imho
