Dwarves are cool too. Maybe GW will make 30cm(1') dwarves to decorate your front/back yard gardens. Imagine large models, the opposite of Tiny Epic games called Yardhammer 40k, where you can move models like human size chess in Marostica, Italy near Venice (Venicia). Sorry, I had too much coffee. drunken

Hah! It seems that is the only good purpose for a squat now Razz

Just kidding, as I think squats are pretty cool (although a bit superfluous to have included in the game).

today i'm digging in the 1991 red Catalogue ... highly WHFB-oriented i found some material usable for 40k though ... from Realms of Chaos ... our archenemy : the Deamons !! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
the first blood thirsters : 6 heads (some superb, some awful), 2 bodies, 3 left arms and 3 right hands ... a lot of possibilities !! Twisted Evil
http://solegends.com/citcat912/c20246rcbloodthirster.jpg
the keeper of secrets (one of the best done, i regreted its change for a more bovine head successor, and then the one with less bovine head)
http://solegends.com/citcat912/c20247rcksecrets.jpg
the Great unclean : with 8 pieces it's the more modulable one
http://solegends.com/citcat912/c20248rcunclean.jpg
the Lord of Change : it's the ugliest of the 4 and one of the ugliest model i ever saw (imho), i can't find anything to defend it against the GW more recent one, or against the FW one !! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad affraid affraid
http://solegends.com/citcat912/c20249rcchange.jpg

that was the time of Realm of Chaos were the frontiers between WHFB Chaos and 40K Chaos weren't so clear Wink

the Flesh Hounds (i love their famelic bodies)

Chaos Juggernauts (i like the possibility of human or deamoniac rider)

Those aren't bad looking Bloodletters, but I think the current ones look MUCH better. However, those Flesh Hounds are a different story. I wish they would have stuck with that look for the current models. I honestly don't notice too much of a difference in the old and new Slaanesh Daemon models, but that may just be me.

I still wonder how they created the molds to make these. At least you have to give GW some credit, they didn't let japanese anime designers go to town. Large eyes, too lanky and robotic looks for space marines is just not right. Thanks for the pics brother Aubec... knowing you, you probably have more... much more. jocolor

I like the old bloodletters more than the new TBH. I think it is the fact that they are skinnier and some how more "Daemonic" looking.

I REALLY like the space marines riding the Slaanesh steeds! Those look cool Cool

I love the arbites.

As for bloodletters i actually like the beastmen styled ones inbetween the releases.
They were so big and menacing and had great artwork.

Love that the old palanquin is better thean the new Razz

For you none Alain delon fans (me included). He's a french actor that looks like James Dean with darker hair, some years after, like van damme, then much later like jack nicholson... he is the true lord of change. At least he has products named after him like: perfume(cologne), cigarettes, stationary, clothing, wristwatches and eyewear. Cool

These are some of my favorite models that you've featured here Aubec (the Eldar, that is). They look fantastic! I really like the way the Eldar fella' is sitting down in the walker as well. I could do without that Avatar though, but that's the same story for the current Avatar. They just have yet to get a good looking Avatar model IMO.

IIRC the reason squigs and tyranids are together is that (according to my sources) in the beginning, the ork dna was used by the tyranids to create the squigs, apparently, an ork space pirate party boarded the tyranid hive ship, found the squigs and brought them home.

Since then, orks have had squigs...........

Yes, the story is sucks and i'm happy it's gone.
