When I saw the cover art on BL's front page, it made me go

Wooohooo!!!!
Hmmm, April 2011 release huh? Maybe this is a portent or inkling as to the relative timeframe of the new GK release???? I mean...we've never seen GK's on the cover of any BL product except for Ben Counter's GK novels right? And from what I've seen on how GW releases stuff, they usually coincide it with their other products. All speculation and assumption I know but maybe???
BTW, a good friend of mine who's a GW store manager just told me that the new GK release will involve A LOT of plastic. Although even he didn't know when (or just wouldn't tell me)

You guys know that it isn´t a GK novel but a compilation of short stories. It´s the third part to Heroes of the SM and Legends of the SM.

Yup, but the fact that there IS a new Grey Knight story in there is enough reason for celebration
While I don't have anything against Ben Counter, I had hoped maybe Dan Abnett or Graham McNeill would do a GK novel...

Or Aaron Dembski-Bowden. He had done a fantastic work with Soul Hunter.

Aye, if Dan Abnett did a Grey Knight story...we'll, it would be FANTASTIC!
But Ben Counter will do I suppose. I'll just be faithful that we got a new story

I liked the Ben Counter books, but I also really liked the portrayal of the Grey Knights in Graham McNeil's Killing Ground.

I don't dislike Ben Counter. Having read Abnett's Eisenhorn, Ravenor and Gaunt's Ghost novels, as well as McNeill's Ultramarine's novels, I think they would write an awesome GK novel

Re: Victories of the Space Marines
Am I being cheap by hoping that BL will ominibus-ize the last three Ultramarines novel? It's the only reason why I haven't picked them up yet (and thus missing the GKs in there).
A GK novel by McNeill would be awesome. We need more GK stories!

Re: Victories of the Space Marines
The only reason I picked up Killing Ground was because the Grey Knights have a reasonable story presence, I wouldn't have bothered otherwise. That said I liked the writing style of McNeil through and may look to read some more of his stuff at some point. I'm still struggling to find time to work through the Ravenor omnibus at the moment.
Back on topic though, I am definitely going to pick up a copy of Victories on release.

I've never really liked Ben Counter tbh... the new eldar scorpion book author would do a good job of the Grey Knights I feel, he is more into the fluff and following lore than the age 9-13 'kill stuff' writing that many of the Black Library authors are afflicted with (particularly those that do the SM stuff).

You mean Gav Thorpe? I read the new Eldar book and it was okay...but so God Emperor fruity XD
Every single sentence came out particularly, for lack of better word, gay. You could tell he was doing it, with all the rainbows and descriptions of places. But being an Eldar book I guess what can you really expect.

Yea he was borderline over the top with how he did that aspect of the novel, but then again from a pure fluff perspective I think thats pretty much how the eldar would be.
Personally i think they got their asses handed to them a bit much in certain areas, but then it was similar to the GK novel in that way. Sometimes units are dieing and your just thinking "SERIOUSLY????", especially when in certain other novels someone can practically wipe out a world single handedly and be home in time for tea.

I just picked up Victories of the Space Marines. The fist sory with the Salamanders was ok, It reminded me too much of the last Ultramarines novel where Uriel worked with the Grey Knights to banish the ghosts of wronged imperial citizens during a warp storm...Copy much? lets see what story #2 with the White Scars has to offer

Re: Victories of the Space Marines
I might definitely have to do more research but is there, or are there any mention about a more indepth story line or biography of Brother Capain Stern other than the DH Codex? He was on the third GK book cover and a few mentions of his prowess and legendary feats but I'd like to read more about BC Stern or other GK Grandmasters, BC entombed in the dimly blue lit hallow mausoleum deep in the GK Chapel Fortress on Titan. BC STern is suppose to be upgraded to a Paladin or Grandmaster and with stats measuring up to Mephiston, Lord of Death!!!(as Rumored)
