Land Raider and Shrouding

Well, I have e-mailed them with the question, but given that it is Gamesworkshop themselves organising the tournament I won't hold my breath for an answer.

I've been waiting for over 3 months for confirmation from them over whether you can actually use Stern as the army HQ, because technically he is not listed as a 'Grey Knight Hero' and therefore could prevent access to GKLR, GKLRC and GKD if someone argues for RAW.

I just spoke w/ my contact at GW customer service and he said that the rules team has yet to finalize the official ruling and it will probably not be till January. When is the Throne of Skulls tourney anyway?

In just over 2 weeks time. I guess I will just argue for it at the tournament then, given that I'm not the only one who can see the logic of the application in light of the lack of additional 'Grey Knight' definition.

A tournie forcing you to use the pdf. version is just downright stupid and personally I would never attend one that made me do so. It's bad enough our dex is outdated but having to use both an outdated and incomplete one just compounds the problems. All that pdf. did was open up a second can of worms to go along with the first. The best you can do is compile all your concerns and fire them off to the organizers and hope for clear answers. I'm afraid thought that the fact that they've already chosen the pdf. over dex doesn't bode well for their intelligence and you may not like the answers if you get them.

Yup, I know it's G-dub. That's why I mentioned you may not like the answers since they're the ones that screwed the whole thing up in the first place.

and it seems he's programmed for february 2011 ... so our GK codex seems to have the same course : february 2011
the manager and the seller of my GX store wasn't surprised when seeing the pic, and the seller mumbled that he can't officially find it ugly, proving that it's the official one.

And that's the essentiel point Brother! It seems that we're gonna get an uggly SR! Our LR have some great days to come in are collections!

Yea all the GWS staff I talked to confirmed that its the real one, they all also tried to say it was pretty cool until I just said I thought it was terrible, and the worst Space Marine tank type model to date.

Maybe it might turn out not so bad when we see the actual model and from different angles. I'm just trying to be optimistic. Who knows, it might grow on us?

If it can hold 10 GKT in our new codex then I might kitbash some and make a DH Air-brigade.

If its the same "profile-wise" as the BA SR, it can probably hold 12 models? With models w/ jump packs or TA counting as two?

Yea very short, stubby and inelegant. Its meant to be a fighter/transport, a bit like the star wars ones shown in episode two, but space worthy.

The BA codex states that Terminator armour takes up TWO transport spots, and the Storm Raven holds 12, which means with our codex which has different rules on the Terminator armour we could actually fit 12 into the SR, since the transport rules don't state it can only hold 6 terminators (only that it can only hold 6 JP equipped models)

I'm pretty sure that our new codex will also have the update on the terminator armor size so I'm guessing we'll also only be able to fit 6 GKT in there. IMO, 12 GKT in the SR might be a little unrealistic

True, but it would be great.
That being said I want the GK version to be much lighter weapons, and maybe AV13.

Since you mentioned the stormraven, based on the leaked pictures I'm just going to say that in my opinion it is possible one of, if not the most shittiest looking vehicle ever made for 40k. How disappointing Looks like someone built a plane out of cardboard boxes.

Isn't the shrouding effect caused by an aura so bright that it's like shooting into the sun at noon, possibly missing the center. Rather than making the GK invisible, sorry, I don't have my codex handy.

Neither do I have mine, but if I remember well, the Shroud is a psychic disturbance that affects the ennemy's perception of reality.
