1500 pts ... without dreadknight

I had a discussion with a friend concerning the dreadknight, and he thinks that without them, Grey Knights are quite ineffective... So I challenged him with a 1500 pts game without dreadknight, to teach him the value of the glorious Grey Knights

He will be playing nidz, so here we go :

I'm an inconditional fan of the termies so i like your list !
Especially because of the Musketeers names of your squads !!
All of my squads and all my grey knights have Musketeer's names from the south west of France !
By the way, when will you destroy your Nidz opponent ?

How did the battle go? Also what made you go for the psycannon, since the change to salvo I really can't bring myself to use them on PAGK

The war begins in two hours

The strike squd will drive the quad gun, so the psycannon will take some pot shoots one the flyings...

That's done brothers, but it was costly...

Only Gergovion, Arvenhal and 7 terminator brothers made it...

I lost the strike squad and 8 of the 10 interceptors before the end of turn 2, and I was losing this game at the end of turn 3 by almost 15 points, so I decided to wipe the tyranids to win the game.

Gergovion and squad Ravailhac arrived by deep strike at turn 4, and at the end of turn 6 every tyranid was dead...

Quite a victory, and without dreadknight !

We are lucky that without flyrants we are a horrid match up to tyranids. Our force weapons laugh at the big guys and our Storm bolters and incinerators laugh at the little guys.

Happy for your win Brother even if i feel that that was a hardly win !
Which unit of yours was a win and which one was a fail or at least something to fix ?

Brother captain with The Soul Glaive is a win : killed the hive tyrant in one turn, then slayed a venomthrope, 2 zooies, a hive guard and a bunch of gaunts.
Librarian with Soul Purge is a win too : even if he arrives on turn 4, he cast it on a carnifex and finished it. On the next turn he cast it on a tyrannocyte and wound it too. This power allows to inflict wounds before the shooting phase, I quite like it.

Land Raider is a deception : does not kill many things (bunch of gaunts with the flamestorm cannons) but he kept the terminator safe, so...

Next time I will swith the LR for a bunch of purifiers in a rhino or a razorback I think.
