Forge World Salamanders project

Got home from work and saw the first of several orders from FW arrived


Spartan Assault tank
LR Achilles
Deimos Predator Infernus
Deimos Predator Executioner

This is for my future project of building and painting a FW heavy Salamanders army. It's going to have almost all FW models/upgrades that a First Founding Legion can have. I had initially planned on doing Space Wolves but I really like the Salamanders

The next orders will include:

I love the Achilles - it's a really good looking tank.

Strangely enough, I'm working on an Imperial Fists army and I got some MkIIBs. Just be careful and check the kits as I was missing some key parts (I.e. the lascannons) and one of the replacements sent out was missing a whole lot more than that. All sorted as of yesterday so I can crack on and assemble my armoured column... Also contemplating making a MkIIB redeemer from the spare bits I have left :p

super project... will you paint their skins in dark tones ?
It's something i always loved with the Salamanders : they don't look like arians !
and the fact that they respect real humans and live with them ...

Yes, main reason I love them is because they are true defenders of humanity. And yes I'll paint their skins exactly how they are described in the books--jet black skin with red eyes.

Seems fun! I happened to get the Horus Heresy Book and want to start on a pre-heresy World Eaters army from forge world. But it's really expensive TT.TT

Are you going to make and/or buy a model for Primarch Vulcan brother?

I´m envy! Pre-Heresy Salamanders are nice. I´m still thinking over a PH Night Lords army. But the price....

But non the less, yesterday i got Loken and Abaddon!
Now i´m waiting for my Contemptor dreadnought and tons of arms for my NL.

Not sure about Vulkan. I wasn't planning to go full pre-heresy. It'll still be a current Salamanders chapter but since they are a First Founding Legion, they would definitely have all the pre-heresy stuff as sacred relics. So in addition to having the pre-heresy tanks, they would definitely have the pre-heresy wargear as well. I plan to sprinkle MkII, MkIII and MkIV armor and assault packs probably w/ the Sternguard and Vanguard units.

@Aubec: I know I had saved up several months 40K allowance and also used up the next 3 months' allowance

Recieved the 2nd of 5 packages yesterday

The Stormeagle and caestus assault ram are pretty big models!

i just love the cestus ... it looks so mean !!

3rd of 5 packages came in...smaller box that contains almost all infantry:

tartarus pattern terminators, MkII assault squads, MkIV command set, etc plus some Salamander's specific rhino and LR doors


To my surprise, my son's Tau order came in too. Didn't realize he's been saving up for the new Tau models


I now I have a good idea on how his list is going to look after I saw the 5 broadside boxes and the 2 riptides. Anyways, I'm excited to borrow them as allies hehe
