1500 pt 2v2 (750 split)

Tomorrow my friend will be visiting that I haven't seen in two years (although we play online games together and keep in touch). He and two other friends will be coming to my local game store to play a 2v2 (friendly) match. We decided to do a 1500 split of 750 points each because last time doing a 1500 point for each person (3000 points total) was too much! They all play xenos armies AND we'll be playing by allied detachment rules. That means I have to keep an eye out for those nasty xenos lol. So I came up with a trolly/fun list that I hope everyone enjoys.

HQ:
Coteaz

Elites:
Techmarine equipped with Blind, Psych, Rad Grenades, Orbital Strike Relay, 3x Servo Skulls, and Storm Bolter

Troops:
Henchmen: 3x Acolytes in a Razorback with Heavy Bolters and Storm bolter with Psybolt and Flashlight
Henchmen: 5x Acolytes, 2x Jokaero Weaponsmith, 2x Servitors with Plasma Cannons, 2x Crusaders

Heavy:
Psyflemen Dread (2 TL Autocannons with Psybolt Ammunition)

And an Aegis Defense Line with a Quad Gun for 750 points on the dot.

I know I'll be seeing Eldar and Orks with a toss up of either necrons or dark eldar tomorrow. Usually my Eldar friend runs Eldrad (grrr) and so I can't really count on Prescience from Coteaz. What I plan on doing is turtling while shooting the crap out of anything that gets close while capturing objectives while my "ally" (whoever it might be) goes out to the front line. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Take out the tech marine. I see what u are trying to do. Don't do it. You don't need it and you can take more troops and mobile weapon platforms. Take out the 2 crusaders form the servitor squad. If you want meat shields, use naked acolytes.

I personally don't think you need the quad gun.. But what evs man.

Well the game went pretty smoothly. The teams were Dark Eldar and Necrons vs Eldar and Grey Knights. Even though the rulebook said that DE and Necrons can't be allies we allowed it for the fun of it. On the bottom of turn 4, the opposing team scooped with the score of 9-1 Victory Points.

The mission we played was Purge the Alien and we deployed first. They managed to roll a 6 on stealing the initiative, but Coteaz is just too good and they re-rolled into a 5. The DE had night attacker warlord trait and we basically wasted our first turn because they thought my "Alamo" was too scary. The DE player had a flyer in reserve because he didn't think we would be bringing a quad gun (good call). So basically the highlights of the match was: the Deathmarks teleported near the table edge (and didnt scatter!) behind Eldrad but because of how we deployed the squad he was with was closer and so he didn't receive any wounds. Because of Bolster defenses and the defense line I got a 3+ cover and ended losing 3 Acolytes and 1 Crusader by turn 4. Pretty much we only lost one Eldar transport whatever it's called, and made them want to start a new game Very Happy

I definitely should have added more acolytes since a 3+ cover was just about the same as a 3+ invul but I didn't have the models for it. The quad gun was like another Dreadnaught so it wasn't that bad at all for 100 points. I also think I should have run the Techmarine with a conversion beamer instead.

I was of the opp that you cannot upgrade the cover save of a terrain you have paid for, and that our teckie can only upgrade a ruin.
And he won
Yes the orbital strike is never a good idea on a teckie, the beamer is a much better choice.

You are correct. FAQ says that's the tech marine can only upgrade ruins
