As i look at the models i cannot see a standart grand master model. There is only draigo. But in WYSIWYG positions what model do you use? Brother captains is ok for this?

Or am i missing something here?

I've converted hector rex model from forgeworld before. He's quite suiting with his ornate armour with extra bitz over him. Otherwise most people would use a model built from the grey knight terminators box.

I tend to do a lot of kit bashing but as a good start point, the Terminator box set has some really nice models, it's what i did for my first GM and to be honest ever since I have glued the bolter arm in place but have magnetized the weapon arm to give me options.

If your looking for something to really stand out look at Scibor miniatures

apologies for the woeful paint job but you get the idea and as you can see they do some really nice sculpts and are all available without arms,
you could also try e bay to see what character models you could pick up for conversion.
this is a forgeworld model which I'm currently doing a conversion on

and this was Lysander of the fists till i cut his arms off

The only limit here is your imagination, the painting and modelling forums on this site also show some excellent work where your sure to find inspiration, best of luck Brother either way when you decide what your doing post pics, its what the Emperor would want Very Happy

you can also do a good job of conversion with the model of Marneus calgar in termie armour ... that's what i plan to do, but i'm looking for the metal model and now he's harder to find...
EDIT : btw i've just see that it's my 2500th post ... i've now reached the rank of GM in this forum !! cheers cheers
i'm very proud of it !! Razz cheers

I used the standard Grey Knight terminator body. I added some lion head shoulder pads from Scibor (lion because my GM is named Leonidas meaning "Son of the Lion"). I have a couple pair because his arms are magnatized so that I can change out his weapons. Psycannon and NFS most of the time but I also have a Staff and stormbolter.
If you are good with greenstuff you can change it however you want... if not then there are several companies like Scibor and Chapter House Studios that make great conversion bits.

@Aubec, the Mareneus metal conversion is awesome, the base and size make him look quite larger than the regular termie and he looks intimidating on the battlefield. The only problem with it is i cant find arms that match his larger size, regular arms look ok but the sword looks kinda dumb being so small, green stuff enlargement should do the trick, i may post a pic when i am finished.

i'd like to see your pics !
i'm still struggling to find the right elements for this conversion (including the metal Calgar ! Razz Razz ) but i find some good blades (swords/halberd and naginata-types) on puppetswar
just check... scratch

This is my old grand master.

I just added some nice robes to a terminator. Worked wonders.
