Grey Knights vs. Dark Eldar and then daemons

Hello Brothers,

I just managed to get my list together fixing some old terminators and a dreadnought i once owned however it was a all foot list so i was curious to how well i'd do.

Grey Knight list

Grandmaster, Rad, Pyscotroke, Blind, Incinerator, 2 servo skulls
Henchmen, 8 death cult assassins, 3 Crusader, Mystic

Coteaz
Henchmen, 3 plasma cannon, 2 Jokaero, Mystic, 6 boltgun acolytes

5 Strike Knights

10 purifiers
Incinerator, 9 Halberds, pysbolts

5 paladins
2 sword/pyscannon, 3 halberd

My opponent was playing a 1500 kabalite list

3 Kabalite units (10) with blaster and sergeant in each and a raider with a mix of disintergrator and dark lances.

3 Ravager all dark lance

Archon (2++) and incubi in a raider with dark lance and blaster

The first game we played my dreadnaught and coteaz's unit downed alot of his vehicles (i also seized the iniative) while I castled around coteaz with both henchmen units. I used the paladins to deepstrike by a servo skull to tear apart archons raider hiding in the centre of the board. When archon tried assaulting the paladins however he rolled a 2 and 1 and failed to be in range to assault after i activated sanctuary. Archon and his 1 sergeant incubi were charged by the paladins after shooting and failed to damage anyone, so they decided to run away and got away by 1 iniative point. my opponent assaulted them in his turn and they failed there morale check again. My purifiers outflanked and downed a Ravager. I had scored alot of kill points to his one.

My second game I played 2000pts of daemons on dawn of war and objectives. I deployed the strike knights in a ruin in the middle of the board and cast warp quake in my turn. coteaz and the rest of the army castled around coteaz. He deepstriked turn 1 by coteaz with some slanesh character with 3 lash, coteaz killed him, my opponent didn't wait for me after i tried telling him i needed to shoot and deployed again within 12" of coteaz with his blue scribes and flamers of tzentch and i shot them killing all but 2 flamers of tzentch thanks to 14 plasma cannon hits my opponent kept saying he felt sick and said thats my strategy out the window etc etc and forfitted.


My third game the dark eldar player wanted a rematch with the same lists. The mission is capture and control and table quarters. Ouch, an infantry army slugging across a board to an objective... this is going to be a challenge.

My paladins, purifiers and Dreadnaught became troops. However I should of outflanked (risky) paladins in reserve along with the strike knights.

TURN 1
I allowed my opponent to go first and failed to seize. His Ravagers all aimed at the dreadnaught and he was dead after one round of shooting.
GrandMaster and henchmen lead to his objective in front of the purifiers using run alot.

TURN 2
My opponent moved and kabalite raider and archon raider nearby coteaz and his unit on his turn 2. He shot a few times and probably killed a henchmen somewhere.
I used pyschic communion to make my rolls of 3 on the strike knights and another 3 for the paladins become a 4. I deepstriked the paladins by coteaz in cover using the mystic and then opened up on the archons raider killing it on an immobilized result as he moved flat out. Coteaz opened up on archon and his incubi killing them all including the archon The strike Knights deepstriked in front of the grandmaster using a mystic.

TURN 3
My opponent shoot the hell out of coteaz and his henchmen killing all but coteaz and 2 jokaero as they used 'go to ground'. two raiders and used single shot fire at the strike knights were reduced to two after using 'go to ground'
I moved closer to his objective but it didn't feel as though i was getting anywhere after shuffling around alot.
The paladins shot the raider which shot coteaz last turn and destroyed it and the occupants ran for there lifes after being reduced to 5.

TURN 4
My opponent shoots coteaz and his 2 jokaero killing them (he has 3 ravagers still ) My opponent takes single shots at grandmaster and henchmen and kills very little as I used grandmasters 2++ and my 1 remaining crusader to absorb the saves.
I move closer to the objective but out of charge range of the raider, only a few purifiers in range after nightshielding, slightly behind grandmaster, shoot at the raider by the objective destroying it.

TURN 5
My opponent rapid fires my grandmaster and henchmen killing a few, again my grandmaster and crusader absorb alot. however my opponents poisoned weapons were weak. Dark Lances smash into my paladins and they 'go to ground' one paladin is lost.
I move within charge range of a kabalite warrior unit with my grandmaster and henchmen. My purifiers shoot a ravager failing to damage it. I charge killing the squad easily with 6 death cult assassins (24 attacks i remember) I advance 5" onto his objective by the emperor! this forbidden relic shall be ours!

TURN 6
we rolled another turn. My opponent split fire between the henchmen and the paladins. The paladins lose another model however they dont go to ground. My henchmen lost a couple from a rapid firing kabalite unit in a raider and a ravager. I charged the immobilized raider (it immobilized itself over terrain) destorying it. The guys inside were pinned.

TURN 7
we rolled another turn. My opponent reduced the paladins to 2 models after 'going to ground'. the henchmen were unscathed.

my opponent conceeded.

2 objective to 0.

3 win game streak and i was sweating and exhausted. however my opponents cried cheese alot etc which went through one ear and out of the other. However we shaked hands and had respect for each outside the game so i wasn't to annoyed.

I hope you enjoyed it. Maybe next time you will consider an all foot list?

Thanks brothers, I hope so as i can talk about more humerous things like if an assassin passed his invulnerable i.e. dodged, surely it would hit the girls and boys behind them unless they all do a timed jump/rolly polly. They could even use a big skipping rope to help them dodge as a team
