1000 Pts Grey Knight list, Opinion?

i am new to Warhammer 40k, and the playgroup ill be with (3 others) are also new to the game. we all play M:TG and other Tactically rewarding games. i have never played a game, and i am kind of $ short, which means that i want to make sure that the army is as tactically rewarding and can be effective in most situations before i buy the army/paints. the idea is to pressure with the Tl-LC and PysfilDread while trundling to midboard with the GKSS. servo-skull within 24", hopefully with cover, and DS the GM and Pally group and go hunting.
Please criticize the list and provide options. Also, i'm in love with the Pallys :$ mostly the FnP...

Well the pallies are probably the weakest link in the list, apart from them the list isn't bad, keeping in mind you have almost 60% of your army in 6 models.

Pallies aren't bad but with that loadout they can absorb some punishment, but not really put any out.

is there a way to keep the pally list, and still improve the overall list? i don't mind cutting down the list of paladins, i just want some present is all. even if its 2 and no apoth.

I would probably recommend dropping the Apoth if you want to keep the Pallies, he is a huge points sync in a unit that will be targeted mainly by weapons that ignore FNP.
If it was a 10 man unit... maybe.

You could swap the razor weapons for normal PsyAmmo to save 60 points, gaining you s6 heavy bolters, and that's almost enough points to buy a second Psyfleman dread with the savings on the Apoth.

Its really hard at this points level tho as you are so constricted.
The GM you could swap out but he makes other units scoring which is valuable, and stops people ignoring the Pallies.
If you swapped him out, with the other points saved above you could add two more GKSS squads, for more troops and firepower.
A normal Inq could replace him.

Its not that the list is bad, but you have a lot of points in the unit and if your opponents have plenty of melta of similar you could really suffer.

If you really like the unit then stick with it!

i would also suggest on making one of the paladins with the psycannon carry a sword...that way they are armed differently and you can do the multiwound passaround better

If you take pallies you want minimum 5 (or 1) and have them carry two PsyCannons, they are one of the best weapons in the game and are part of what make Paladins really really good.

Vortex is also really risky, and IMO not worth the risk, warp rift is better, and MoT is good as well, as is sanctuary.

I think Libs are a great choice especially to join other TDA armoured units, they can be a force multiplier.

You could also take a TDA Inq with PsyCannon, as a cheap 90 point HQ giving you a bonus PsyCannon, to go with a 5 man Paladin squad who also have two.
Gives you a nice rock unit to build around.

I think your Psyfledreads should come in around 135 instead of 140.
