My 2500 'Ard Boys List (Pure GK)

So here's my list for the upcoming 'Ard Boyz Tournament.

It lacks the vehicle protection that is probably advisable for certain units and a 2nd HQ. I focused more on body count and redundancy accompanied by deep strikes and combat squadding. I'm open to all your suggestions.

I know you're using a stock GM and you wrote Hammer of R beside him. You know you can switch Grand Strategy every game right?

All laughs aside I feel for me that HoR is my best course of action.

After looking back at some of my previous battles what hurt me the most were all the bad rolls.

If I can dwindle down even one enemy model at a time that'll help my odds a bit.

However, when it comes to an objective based game I'll pray for a roll of 5-6 and designate the Pallys, (1) Purifiers, and GKIS as troop choices.

Well I need to revised the list due to budgeting my finances and the fact that my son needs more models for his Blood Angels 2500-point list over and against my GK needs to be up to the challenge with the 'Ard boys Tournament.

I'll only need to buy a few more models so I've considered using all that I have in stock towrd my list.

I'm taking a GM and Crowe to have all but the Dreadnoughts as troop choices and sticking with HoR to re-roll wounds. I also will decking out the GM with all the trimmings.

The list boosts 50 models and transportation for the Purifiers. I'll be holding a majority of my troops in reserve and deep striking them.

So I realized last night that when I tallied my GKT as GKSS on my list maker and the math on my excel sheet was way wrong.

So I carefully redid the list and now am caught between a rock and a hard place between choosing a Librarian or a DreadKnight to spend on the last remaining 195 pts.

Any advice?

I guess you really want a SR in this list? Just thinking that 4 psycannons inside the SR w/o firing points is a little wasted (for a turn or two at least).

But b/w the NDK and libby, both can contribute although I'm leaning more towards the libby for enhanced survivability for your SR.

Hey Brother Rivan. Would you suggest I drop the SR and take both the Librarian and the DreadKnight.

Here's the deal I can't purchase anymore models so I'm limited to (2) Rhinos and a Storm Raven.

I've considered using Modrak and librarian w/ a teleport homer.

Well, you can give the 2nd squad of purifiers a rhino as well and still use the SR. You can use the SR as a gunship for fire support or if you end up combat squadding 1 squad of GKT, they can go in there w/ the GM.

The remaining 155pts is still enough for a NDK w/ a great sword. I didn't want to drastically change your list but that's what I would recommend with the units you plan to use.

One thing about PsyAmmo for the the purifiers. If you think about it, your paying 20 pts to give 6 purifiers psybolts, which comes out to 3.33/model. What's more they'll be in the rhino for at least what 1-2, maybe 3 turns? Just saying that their effectivity will not be diminished even if they don't have them. Normally, when you hop them out of the rhino, they'll probably get to shoot once and hopefully assault.
The psyammo for the GKT are definitely worth it since they'll either be already on the table or DSing and be able to unleash 16 S5 stormbolter shots per squad. At least for them, you're getting 8 models for 20 pts.

If you do decide to take out psyammo for the purifiers, I would definitely put the skulls back. They can help vs. infiltrators and scout moves as well as help with your GKT if they're deepstriking. A brotherhood banner is also not a bad investment for a large unit of GKT (base 3 attacks each +1 on the charge gives a 10-man unit 36 force weapon attacks on the charge + 4 regular attacks (banner). What's more, they automatically pass the psychic test to activate their force weapons. Just my further two cents

Great points Brother Rivan. I never realized the point of view of PsyAmmo vs model count. It definitely would be nice to free up an additional 40 points.

If I place a unit of GKTs in reserve and deep strike or out flank can I combat squad the unit and place half of the GKT in a Storm Raven with the HQ?
