Hi all, I'm back with a new version of a GK army I just put together for a LFS tourny. Here's the list:

HQ
Inquisitor Lord, PW, SS, TA, Hammerhand, Bolt Pistol
Retinue: (2) Warrior, Plasma Gun
(1) Acolite
Mounted in Land Raider
Elites
Terminator Squad
Brother Captain, Hollocaust
(5) Termies, 1 Psycannon
Troops
GKPA 1: Justicar, (5) GKs, Psycannon
GKPA 2: Justicar, (5) GKs, Psycannon
GKPA 3: Justicar, (4) GKs, Psycannon

Heavy Support
GK Dreadnought, TLLC, ML, Extra Armour smoke
GK Dreadnought, TLLC, ML, Extra Armour smoke
GK Dreadnought, Assault Cannon, DCCW+Storm Bolter, Extra Armour, Smoke

I wanted to try an all out Dread Support Config. and try to take full advantage of the Shrouding. I added the LR 'cause it's a great vehicle and I think no army can do without at least one. The Combat Dread is there since I wanted to try a different config., close combat for this matter. It worked pretty well and is actually a great way to protect my other Dreads.

hi brother
imho inquisitor makes a poor HQ (not tough enough)
by the way a cc inquisitor has a little survivality (?) (T=3 is a too big flow )
if you like the inquisitor (thing that i can understand because they are stylish Wink ) then use the IL as shooting platform : HB, HP, MM ... and 2 mystics to provide you the possibility to shoot freely the deamons and the DS squads, even in the LR...
as HQ i love the GKGM...

I too am a GKGM man, but I wanted to have a LR in this army so I had to go with the IL. Sad

I didn't considered the shooty IL, so I think I'll give it a try.

I see one issue so far with this, it needs a GK Hero. I not being bias when I say that a GKGM is the HQ to go with, but to field those Dreads, you need to have either a GM or BC at least in order to field them. Easy enough to fix if you just switch those Terminator squad to an HQ Slot then your good.

The Shooty Inquisitor build is definitely better in some regards to a Purgation squad, where you'll have more weapon options. What I normally do for this type of build, is to start off by giving the Inquisitor a Psycannon (Yea, he's a beast with it), get some gun servitors, sages, and mystics in there. If you have two Sages in the group, you can re-roll the get's hot roll for a plasma cannon if you want. Unfortunately, your not gonna be able to stay inside the Land Raider and shoot from safety of it like either the Chimera and Rhino, but with two mystics, and if it's nearby, you can use it to take a shot at the target instead of your unit, only if its feasible.

You'll have fun with a Shooty Inquisitor, it will get its job done right. Based on what ever type of build you go with, your unit can pump out quite a lot of shots from 36 inches away. Though, just be mindful that the unit will become pretty expensive very quickly.
