GK can definitely work without LR. Just have to make excellent use of cover against any ap3. And your list would have to get the opponent to agree to let you use the imperial armor books.
I like to do 1-2 Las/missle dreads with no LR, or one las missle one CCW melta, but if you can use drop pods melta is probably best.
i've even experimented with the Orbital strikes. taking two melta strikes can force you opponent to shy away from cover or (once he knows what side they are on) force him towards your force. try em, theyre not uber powerful, but ALOT of fun.

The list looks good. My only suggestion would be to give your Dreads tllc's instead. You'll have to get in close with the multi-meltas and they'll be taking a lot of a/t fire themselves to do it. Since they're your main armor it might be better to snipe at range. Change your frags to a targeter in the psycannon squad as well.

That's a pretty solid list IMO. Agree with Brother NF, I would at least give the dread that's not drop podding in a TWLLC so you have one AT from long range. I love the MM on the dread in a drop pod (assuming your opponent is okay w/ FW rules as Brother MJS mentioned)

The dred not in a pod should have had twin las and ML and the psycannon unit do's have a targeter

If you're really going to drop the dread w/ the DP, a little more adjustments and you can have a LR or LRC. I think LR/LRC in a 1500 point game is quite beneficial since it will provide either your HQ squad or 1 of your PAGK squads some mobility.

If you have a LR and deploy it properly, you won't have to worry about MM and M guns too much as they have far shorter range. A LRC would be subject to more threats because it has to close w/ opponents to bring its weapons to bear.
DS has its uses but personally, I don't like risking my costly units to possible DS mishaps. I also dislike relying on the random turn they come in at. Lastly, with our army outnumbered most of the time, I prefer to have my forces readily available from turn 1.
However, it doesn't mean I'm just going to foot slog them forward. I've shot down SM terminators with SB so I know that GKTs can and will go down too if they're subject to enough shooting. I guess everything really depends on how you move them and utilize LOS and cover.
Just my two cents...

Actually, I missed seeing the drop pod for the one Dread. He should definitely keep the m-m in that case. Good luck on your match. Remember though not to refer to them as bolter-bitches if they still have any Faith points left.

Re: 1500p of stern and no landraiders
I agree with Rivan, Sisters of battle are an excellent addition to a grey knights army. They have a similar theme and points wise are very good value. Compared to a stormtrooper, 1 extra point buys you power armour and a bolter (1+ S over hellguns)
