It was made without the permission of GW.

Kind of lame, after you mentioned it I looked around a bit, apparently its pretty good.

GW wasn't being cruel its just because if they allowed to have the rights to make it then they would lose all their intellecual rights then the Warhammer 40k franchise would be open to abuse.

That ultramarine vid, was a really nice fanvid.

Damnatus was created with gw's knowledge.

BUT, later in the creation (or when it was finished) gw found out about german copyright laws.
According to them, the rights to 40k would become the damnatus creators copyright (or something)

Anyway, it's not actually gw's fault, it's german copyright laws that forced gw to defend their copyright. And ban damnatus.

Damnatus has been on pirate bay.

If pirate bay doesn't work, it can be becouse the creators of pirate bay have been prosecuted by swedish court on copyright infringements and have gotten prison (think it was 3 years) and i think it was several millions swedish kronor in .... they have to pay it to people, don't remember word.

I don't remember if this had been overruled and taken to even higher court though.

I could share it with you, but there is a new law in sweden that enforces internet providers to provide the police with IP's of all their users.
There's even another law in the works that will enforce all internet providers with all their users internet access logs to the police.

Needless to say, this is not lightly seen upon, and i don't know if i can download stuff or share it without the police coming and sending a letter or knocking on the door.
It's all really problematic, there's huge discussions if this is private life concerning or not.

Yes unfortunately laws are getting tighter and tighter to try and avoid people downloading stuff for free, and our freedom is going out the door.

At the moment the world hasn't realised there needs to be a balance between peoples privacy and the rights of music and movie moguls who already make billions of dollars, its interesting because medical companies quickly lose their copyright on new medicines, and they can then be mass produced by other companies (just a few years later) destroying the companies chance of remaking the money, and leading to companies not bothering to do research into new medicines, meanwhile copyright for music and movies is pretty much open ended, and apparently everyones privacy can be sacrificed in a futile attempt to stop sharing.
Also realistically the majority of people wouldn't be illegally downloading content, simply because most of the older generation don't know how, and probably don't care...
