Militarum tempestus ? Empty Militarum tempestus ?

Hi brothers.

I would like to have your opinion about militarum tempestus : I think about take some squads as allies, to benefit from their ability to DS with 2 melta per squad, and their AP3 shooting. I would take them as allied or in a CAD.

They would add low AP fire power, and as they are not too expensive they would help in board control and relieve my GK from enemy firepower.

Your opinion ?

Problem with stormies is that they are squishy.

In my old deamonhunter army, i ran about 40 of them, and they died like flies!

Yeap, but your GK should soak least firepower...

Honestly I have my GK for 3-4 years, and I don't really know how to play them... I have mainly problems with the terminators : on foot they are too slow, on deep strike they are shooted to death the turn they arrive... the solution is to plut them in a land raider or a storm raven, but this is really costly just to deliver them to close combat. And they REALLY lack AP2 weapons. I am not a power gamer and my friends and I play for the fun, but GK are frustrating to play with.

That's why I was looking for the scions : deep strike, AP2 weapons, figs are cool, I thought this could be a good option to help GK.

Do you play 100% grey knight lists ?

Long time since i played.

But i played pure Deamonhunter back in the day.
So 36 stomtroopers, two flamers per 8 man squad.
Some PAGK, 6 terminators, grand master, Land raider, a dreadnought with twin-lascannon.
Inquisitor with psycannon.
Eversor.
And Teddy, the lance strike Razz

Never played the grey knights codex. With or against.

or make a full human Inquisition Agents army !
what is beautiful with those IG armies is that you can still found metal minis quite cheap... mordians, Catachans, Tallarns, Vostroyans....
and i love the style of their veterans... so yes they died quite quickly, but they are numerous ... and often the bulk of number is enough ! Wink
