Re: Super cheesy 1750?
At 1750 you might want to consider redeemers - cheaper and you can clear objectives easier when you come to drop your troops off.
This means you dont need the SR's tooled for anti-infantry with the hurricanes and psybolt which also saves points.
Cortaez
1 x 11 Acolytes (Cortaez here)
5 x 12 Acolytes
3 x Stormraven
3 x Landraider Redeemer
1734pts
Of course, as in your original list what you really need for this to work is:
Anti-tank on the table from the start
Squads with flamers to clear objectives
Assault troops coming out of assault vehicles to finish things off
As always when I see a Landraider / Stormraven list I wonder if the Blood Angels could do it better.
They get Godhammers for 215 points if you put an assault squad in them. The assault squads can have 5 point flamers. The Stormraven's get bloodstrike missiles and the troops embarked on the Ravens have descent of angels.
Librarian
3 x 5 Assault squad (no jump packs) / flamer / godhammer / multi-melta / searchlight
2 x 6 Assault squad / flamer
2 x Stormraven / searchlight
1741pts
- One less Raven I grant you but 28 PA troops - 12 with jump packs
- The multi-melta's on the Godhammers provide some serious anti-tank, this combined with the bloodstike missiles means AV won't be a problem.
Flamer assault troops disembarking to toast objectives.
At 2000pts you could run an extra Librarian and a Vindicator

Re: Super cheesy 1750?
Some good suggestions there I've actually looked at starting a blood angels army before, but I don't really have the funds to. The only problem with the blood angels list I can see is a lack of vehicular anti infantry weapons, whereas I felt the grey knights one was more balanced between anti vehicle and infantry, with 2 god hammers and a SR kitted for anti vehicles, and a crusader and the other 2 SR's kitted for infantry. I just love hurricane bolters with psybolt, especially as 90% of my games are against tyranids.

Re: Super cheesy 1750?
I've thought of the land raider/stormraven option before. but the problem is this:
you start with only the land raiders on the board. yeah ok they're landraiders so they're tough, very tough. but unless you start them in cover the entire enemy army is firing at three (VERY TOUGH!) targets.
Then you have the stormravens coming in. Until they start hovering (and are vulnerable) they are 205 points of anti-infantry with those typhoons, assault cannons and psybolt ammo hurricane bolters (which btw means that they're no longer defensive weapons....)
ways to tweak this list:
Keep godhammers but change the loadout of the stormravens to multi-melta and lascannon so you can take out tanks and transports with them when they deep strike in (or fly on).
Take a mix of deathcult assassins and crusaders in your stormraven squads cause you'll be wanting those 3+ inv saves...
Don't bother with LR crusader, just stick to godhammers.
you may say "but then I don't have any anti-infantry weapons!".
By all means add hurricane bolters to the stormravens, but don't give them psyammo.

Re: Super cheesy 1750?
Some good thoughts/points there
However there is no longer any such thing as defensive weapons so there's nothing wrong with psybolts really other than the points cost. You can fire away to your hearts content (well with 5 weapons).
Also, storm ravens no longer have the deep strike rule as per the FAQ

Re: Super cheesy 1750?
on another note. the thing this list is missing is an awful lot of bodies. seriously a 3 man deathcult squad? that will be chopped to pieces in combat and shot to pieces the second they step from the stormraven......
lose a stormraven , lose the typhoon missile launchers and take this (my opinion)
Coteaz

3 man servitor squad w/ plasma cannons
Stormraven w/ t-l plasma cannon & T-L Multi-Melta

Land Raider Godhammer w/ t-l lascannons & t-l heavy bolter & Psybolt Ammo
Land Raider Godhammer w/ t-l lascannons & t-l heavy bolter & Psybolt Ammo
Land Radier Godhammer w/ T-L Lascannons & heavy bolter & Psybolt Ammo
Aegis Defence Line w/ Quad Cannon
1749
T
The plasma cannon servitor squad add more high power dakka to the list. Nothing like a load of AP2 blasts to make a dent in the enemy! and with coteaz attached there's no mindlock.
The Stormravens have T-L Plasma Cannons to deal with enemy infantry, and also T-L Multi-Meltas to deal with enemy tanks.
The Godhammers stay back and use their lascannons to take down enemy tanks and tough characters, and their heavy bolters are upgraded to pseudo long range assault cannons by psyammo.
And all for the loss of a single lstormraven....
