Tournament List 2000pts

Came up with a 2000pt list that I'm planning to use for the GTs I'm attending next year. It is an expansion of an awesome (IMO) 1750 list from another forum (credit to Crynn of B&C). The list has a very "elite" theme that I really like but it is a list that requires really good tactical play to be successful.

I plan to test it out tonight for my final game at my LGS' local tourney. I'll be going up against a heavy-assault BA army (Meph, SR, Furioso w/ talons, lots of assault marines backed up by preds and RBs). So it will be a good test for this list.

Feedback and criticisms appreciated.

HQ - GM w/ staff, incinerator, blind, rad, psychostroke, 2 skulls
HQ - Coteaz
EL - Ven dread w/ 2 x TWLAC + psybolts
EL - 10 Paladins:
3 x halberds
1 x sword
1 x hammer
1 x B. banner
1 x psycan/halberd
1 x psycan/hammer
1 x psycan/sword
1 x m-c psycan/halberd
TR - 10 GKSS w/ 2 psycans, psybolts
RB w/ TWLHB + psybolts
TR - 7 Henchmen warband (5 x DCAs, 1 x mystic, 1 x banisher)
HS - LR w/ psybolts
HS - Dread w/ 2 x TWLAC + psybolts

Fluff-wise, its a very sensible list. GM is accompanied by 10 paladins while Coteaz has his personal guard.
With average rolls for grand strategy, I can make the ven dread and the paladins scoring if needed.
GKSS can combat squad if necessary (half can go into RB) or stay as 1 unit and provide fire support with the dreads.
Like I mentioned earlier, this list will require good tactical play to succeed since it is a small army (33 models in all).

i'm eager to know how this list will stand against BA
as you know it brother i personally am not very found of "mixed" armies, but i can understand their interest and effectiveness.
one point though : you'll maybe need some crusaders for your DCA to be sure they can provide their full effectiveness in CC.
one question : why the mystic, with 2 skulls ?

The mixed units is simply because of Coteaz. I really want Coteaz in the list and I can't get another TR choice other than a warband due to points.

I may swap the banisher for a crusader since they are the same cost. But I can only have 7 models for the warband because Coteaz and the GM will usually be with them in the LR.

The mystic is so I'll have a reliable teleport homer for my pallies and GKSS just in case I want to DS them. The skulls serve the same function and also for infiltrate/scout denial of course.

Can I ask what the LR is for? Obviously with the 10 Paladins it won't be used as a Transport would it?

Against mech, it might pop one, two vehicles a turn but I think that all of he enemies anti-tank would be aimed at the Paladins. No Draigo means that anything S8 and above pretty much means a dead Paladin.

I'd be very interested in seeing how this list fairs against the BA. Just don't get those Paladins in CC with those Blood Talons!

The LR is mainly transporting the warband + Coteaz and GM. I will have to get creative in using the LR to block LOS to the paladins as well as provide them cover saves. The intent is to keep the paladins close to the LR so the GM and Coteaz can join them and buff them up for CC when assault is imminent. This means the LR will be slowly advancing along with the paladins as the paladins lay down 16 psycannon shots.

Believe me, my first priority target would be the SR since it will most likely be carrying the Furioso + 5 TH/SS termies. If the termies and the furioso have to footslog, I'll have a chance to hopefully shoot them down.
Of course there's also good ol Mephiston. He's can also spank paladins with his S10 attacks.

I'm not scared of Mephiston personally. Just try to get the charge on him. Your psych-out grenades make him I1 during the first turn!

i still think that this list is way harder to play than your full GK ones.
i think that crusaders are worth a try.
i don't know ... the list seems a little wobbly, shaky to me, the warbands are too fragiles in T and W i guess ...

never underestimate warbands.. even with T3. giving the right cover those guys can last longer than the enemy can think off.

just like a bunkered up 10 men guardsmen unit.. can take a ton of damage before going down and all that thanks to cover.

Is Mephiston an eternal warrior? I think not - I think one turn of assault is all Mephiston will see against an army with force weapons

Unless he blocks your force weapon of course But true, he can do some damage for 1 turn but he will most likely go down after that due to number of wounds.

No invun save either? = no save against us, his best defence is his high toughness
