Re: The end of metal ??
There is always the cheper way of creating your own version with spare bits. It takes alot of time, determination, patience and perseverance. The down side is if you do make your own version of the storm raven or GM Mordrack, you might not be able to play it in a large scale tournament. Which GW has yet again dents you in your sacred smoking hanging censers between your loins.

Nope I hated them too. So much easier to do conversion work with an abundance to plastic parts to kitbash with.

Re: The end of metal ??
there was that discussion before
though i must admit that conversions are easir with plastic there was a time where we didn't really need conversion because of the hundreds of models in hundreds of postures of each army.
it's all about the evolution of the hobby
once before the persons who entered the hobby were collectors more that players (the collection part was the primary goal if you mean) now it's the reverse, the majority is one of players not collectors (because of the policy choices of GW of course)
i'm a collector and you must admit brothers that you can't collect plactic !
but i made my catharsis in creating the "digging the archeovaults of GW" post where i show to everyone who is curious or interested what was the charm of the old GW metal models ! And you're welcome (both of you)
