Another Miniture Range for Conversions
Title says it all, check out
http://www.rackham-store.com/boutique_us/liste_rayons.cfm?code_lg=lg_us
for some more models to convert. They're slightly smaller than GW's, but work well for inquisitors and human sized models (ie not terminators / space marines size models).
My inquisitor is Sered templar commander from the Griffens army.
Enjoy.
Also, if anyone has other model ranges with similar scales to warhammer, let me know, I like to look at all possibilities.

Great find i really like some of the Minis. Just the shops in America and it'd be too expensive to get shipped over.

I found a retailer here that gets regular shipments, so I can wave the 20 euro shipping cost to North America

Re: Another Miniture Range for Conversions
10 Euros for shipping to the UK not too bad. In AT-43 and under Red Bloks i might use the RPG soldaty as a troop choice for a custom Imperial Guard Regiment I might make.

--- be warned! ----
the AT-43 section of their mini range come PAINTED , and are more of a rubbery thing (I think). I can only say for sure that the other (fantasy) range is pewter.

Painting (for me at least) is the most important part of the hobby, Archo_Flagellant Unit 48661.

Re: Another Miniture Range for Conversions
Ok, I edited and locked one thread.
Which had been necroed, and needed to be locked anyway.
Anyway. I kinda like the red star range. the rest is a little 'meh' to me. I heard that new IG models will be coming out in the forseeable future. Hope to god they look decent, unlike the current Cadians.
BTW Andy and Validi, lets go back to the chatbox. It's more fun talking there than in the forum.

lol new Guard models ? Again ? *** wait , how long have the Cadians been out?*** I thought the Cadians looked WAY better than the Catachans, so I took it as an improvement.
@ Praexes whats the "red star range" ?
The best place on the whole site for inquisitor models is the "griffins of akk-something here: http://www.rackham-store.com/boutique_us/liste_familles.cfm?num=5&code_lg=lg_us

This

Is another range of models I have found, should be the same scale as warhammer. weird site, haven't looked into any shipping stuff or where they are based, but the first model on the page I gave you would be my Necron lord if ever I started an army.

Re: Another Miniture Range for Conversions
The Cadians were better than the Catachans, true, but far inferior to the Steel Legion. Or the Death Korps.
Really, Cadians are just so bland and boring.

Yeah, but I feel that they really portray the 'average' human soldier on the 40k battlefield. I think thats why I like fighting my friend who plays them, I field some sort of alien threat, and he basically lines up the guardsmen and says "ok boys, we know they're way better than us, but damnit if we're not gonna try first"
- and then he kicks my ass , every single time.

Re: Another Miniture Range for Conversions
No, they convey a bunch of guys in chest armour and huge helmets who are as tall as Space Marines.
Guardsmen should have a simple flak-coat or just a uniform. Helmets should be simple and WWI/WWII style. Gasmasks optional.

Why do they need to improve guard? There are other things they need to improve on. (Dark Eldar, Space Wolves)

Re: Another Miniture Range for Conversions
Ok fine
In other converting news, I've recently purchased a box of empire flaggalents (fantasy mind you), and I'm planning on making an inquisitor retinue out of them. I don't have the models yet, but I'm planning on removing some of the medieval weapons, but I think it'll work out well... they all look very 'empire serving' that can only be expressed by self pain lol.
