2k All Comers Purifiers Empty 2k All Comers Purifiers

As the title says I'm working on a 2 thousand point Purifier list. Of all the games I've played using my Grey Knights I like the feel and versatility of a Purifier list the most. Here's what I got so far.

HQ
Crowe (150pts)

Troops
3x 10 man Purifiers
-4 Psycannons, 6 Halberds, Rhino Transport with Dozer Blade (1011pts)

Heavy Support
3x Psyflemen Dreadnoughts (405pts)

Fortifications
Aegis Defense Line
-Icarus Lascannon/Quad-Gun (85/100pts)

Total=1651/1666

Any suggestions as to what I should add/remove? Would like to add either a Grandmaster/Libby/Brotherhood Champion. Or if you can think of an even better list do tell. Although keep in mind I'll only own like 2-3 Rhinos.

Crowe mans the quad gun
The purifiers can all stay in their rhinos nice and safe from anti-infantry fire and either form a gunline or form a rhino column to smash through to an objective (lead rhinos fire smoke to give cover saves, others fire as much as possible on the move).
Dreads stay back behind ADL for cover saves and take out transports etc.
Terminators walk behind the rhinos for cover and fire psycannons on the move. Love Relentless!


Seriously though. get some more rhinos cause purifiers only work really well with mass rhinos IMO

I would look at incorporating the new fortifications.

The Redoubt would be the perfect hiding place for Crowe or a 5-man Purifier squad as it has two fire points for psycannon's, not to mention the added flyer deterrent (because Purifiers hate Helldrakes).

The battle cannon weapons batteries would improve your damage output from range and add large blasts into your army.

Crowe

3 x 10 Purifiers / 4 psycannon / 4 halberd / 2 hammer / rhino

2 x 5 Purifiers / 2 psycannon / 2 halberd / 1 hammer / rhino

2 x Psydread

Firestorm Redoubt or vengeance Weapons Batteries / 2 x battle cannon's

That should put you at approx 2000pts

New Mission Profiles: Crowe's handling the turret. Bradley goes with the squad without the hammer on kill missions/C.C. shenanigans/objective taking, the rest become targets and take objectives. The 10 man squad hangs out behind the wall with the objectives, (if kill point then they foot slog it with Crowe following along so he wont be lonely). Dreads add dakka.

My question now then is Rhinos or Razorbacks? And what loud out to give the Razorback if it is chosen?

Depending on remaining points, there's up to a 40 point cost increase per Razorback when choosing between a standard issue TLHB, TLHB (psyammo), or TL-PsyCannon.

With 1710 points remaining you could field the following options:

6 - Razorbacks (TLHB)

or

5 - Razorbacks (TLHB - Psybolt Ammo)

or

3 - Razorbacks (TL Psycsnnons)

Last thought, if you considered taking the first two options to flood the field with Razorbacks, then opting for a couple of heavy flamers n place of the heavy bolsters to whittle down a line if you advance up the ranks. A Grand Master may prove an interesting addition if you wanted to grant Spear of Light for up to units in their Razorbacks too.

If I could trim the fat some where (like 37 points) I could squeeze in a Vindicare Assassin, who'd be great at popping vehicles and anything I want dead. But it's not all that important. (if the game is against anything with lower base initive the halberds come off and Vindicare goes in). Alternatively if I can' get an Assassin, I could follow Nineteen73's suggestion and replace the Inquisitor with a Grandmaster who will man the gun in stead and give up to 3 of my Squads Scout so they can move up the board faster. Another plan is a small Inquisitorial Retinue to help man the fort. Oh decisions decisions. lol

Simply stick Crowe in the Razorback without the hammer and run them foreward. The Servo Skulls let Rion and his bodyguard teleport in as close as possible to do what they do best. BURN THE UNCLEAN!

By changing the squad that's holding my objectives to a Strike Squad instead of Purifier I saved enough points to make each Razorback a PsyBack. It makes sense, Warp Quake makes any last minute Deep Strikes onto my objectives useless. What ya think brothers?

I have always hated the idea of taking a psycannon squad in a razorback. you lose the ability to protect them and fire your psycannons (while rhino lets you do both). And razorback with a weapon destroyed is a glorified rhino you can't shoot out of.

but if you're determined then try it and see

You bring up a good point Brother Correnus. Ultimately, no matter how many Razorbacks you field, at least half of them will be reduced to a 6-seat  Rhino or battlefield debris.

Sticking with this logic, you could alternately field Rhinos and reallocate the points to equip Hunter Killer Missles. On your first turn, you could launch a sizable Str: 8 Ap: 3 assault on a Monstrous Creature , vehicle, etc. Suppose you add an additional Storm Bolter and Psybolt Ammo, for 20 points less than a Psyback, you can carry a 10 man squad (even if split by combat squad) and have additional fire power.

What are your thoughts?
