1500 GK vs IG Help!!!
hello again brothers, i come to you with an army that i have created but i need advice. in late July i am gonna have a battle with my friend (who taught me how to play and who i have not seen in over a year) and i have no idea what to expect. The only info i know is that he is using an IG army, but i have no experience playing against them. anyway, this is what i came up with:
Libbie-daemon hammer
3 powers
2 servo skulls
Termie 1- 5 man
BHB
Incinerator
Termie 2- 5 man
psycannon
GKSS - 10 man
2 psycannons
3 NFH
Psybolt ammo
Rhino with WSF
Psyrifle DN
Dreadknight- heavy incinerator
gattling psilincer
LRR
total= 1500pts exact
my aim was to field as many units as possible (im even subbing in a chimera for the rhino and a space marine sqd for the GKSS) and my plan is to deepstrike termie 2 and the DK with the aid of the servo skulls and to charge up the LRR and keep back the DN and the GKSS in the rhino.
on my shelf i have left:
Draigo
crowe
2 =I='s
DK with heavy psycannon and great sword
techmarine with conversion beam and warding stave
vindicare assasin
psyrifle DN
3 termies with psycannons
and thats my extras. any tips would help,

Regardless of the new rule book coming out, I recommend using you psyfleman and if you can getting another. I am not sure where you are going to get the points, but IG can field a lot of tanks and skimers that are front or side armor 12. It could be fun to see how many you can bust with the dreadknight, but your odds will improve significantly if you can demech him or even if he is running infantry squads the range will help you take out his weapon teams( big problem, lascannons.) The Vindicare might be usefull to take out his power fist, stubborn inducing commissars if you think you can make it.

Thank you brother S, i see where you are comming from, and yeah its the large number of troops i am worried about. we WILL be playing by the current rules and not the new ones as we are both very fimilliar (dont think i wrote that right ) with them. you guessed my plan to bust open his tanks, but for the extra DN and the vindicare idk where i would get the points as for commisars, i plan to run my termies and libbie into him as a distraction with the LRR whilst the other troops e.g DK termies 2 and GKSS take out the more pesky troops like las cannons ect and as you said, bust in a few tanks in the process

Ok for this ed.
I would not look at running any halberds on any models (guard do not have a high I)
Drop termie squad 1 (the brotherhood banner will not help much (you dont need to instant kill anyghing as 2 castings of hammer hand will give you S6 and this will kill anything in their army.
Place termie squad 2 in to the landraider with the lib.
Drop the skulls and the 3 powers, the only ones you will be useing are hammerhand and scrouding so just buy scrouding.
You can also drop the psybolts of the strike squad .
This should give you the points to take the vindie and the other dread and a m.melta on the landraider.

thanks for the advice brother, i probiably will drop some stuff to get the vindie but as far as the libbies powers go, i plan to use the summoning to bring the rhino up to the front line once most of the heavy weapons are dealt with.

I'd keep the vindicare to deal with AV14 considering most shots from the DN will bounce off.
An Heavy Incinerator on the dreadknight should be able to kill some heavy weapons team hiding in cover.

With teleporting the rhino in, you do know how dangerous this is, the rhino needs to be placed within 6" of the lib, then it will scatter between 2 to 12 inches (unless you roll a hit) so if you land on anything then you are in trouble. The rhino can normaly make its way up the board under its own power, there are other things to shoot at in your army like the landraider and the dreadknight with more threat then a rhino.

Brother FS, i may or may not use the summoning but it all depends of what my friend fields, if the libbie and the squad get hammered in combat, which i doubt, after i finnish combat the next turn i can use the rhino as a shield. i have to watch out though, he has won the highland championships and he is very good, i intend to break his winning streak will let you know what he is gonna use (i will find out before the battle, one way or another )

I agree with first strike, you may find it difficult unless you use servoskulls... however they aren't 100% reliable for a few reasons.

Terrible news brothers, plans have changed. I will still be having a battle with my friend next week but he has decided not to say what he is going to use. He has 5 potential armys: IG, GK, spacemarines, chaos and orks. What should i do. I also came up with a goo 1500 for taking out my other friends tau and i only lost 2 units out of 10 i think

Tell you have some new armies you might like to try out too, so he doesnt know what he will face either.

Right, thanks brother. i wouldnt have thought of tricking him considering i do have a spacemarine army sitting on the shelf
