How about a 'Thanks' feature

Post by Zealadin on Mon Jul 12, 2010 3:50 am

I know I'm not the most active these days, and only really get time to post every few weeks, but I have seen on other forums they use a thanks feature where you can thank someone for a useful or good post.

Might be an idea if its possible with this forum type?
I often read threads and see posts I would like to just put a thanks on, when I dont have time to actually post and address alot of peoples specific posts.

Is it possible?
What does everyone else think?

Not a bad idea,
I do find that as a whole we are generally good at thanking each other as it is.
But a little something extra couldn't hurt

Thanks for the input Razz I'm all for it. Again, I've said this at some point, but this is one of the most friendly and laid back forum around.

Kinda ironic with Grey Knights Razz Purging politely I suppose.

Well we can't be unpolite cane we?

*-Good day mr Char'brekhar, lord of blood, Your hair looks stunning, really fits your wings and horns.
Sadly, i have to inform you that i just have to behead you now, nothing personal, it's my work and all.*

*Grey knight beheads the bloodthirster and pray to the emperor.*
Or something.

Wasn't there a karma system a while? Never really get a hang of some of the utilities that pop up here.

Brother Klomster, I'm laughing so hard my sides hurt. That's a good one.

Giving each other a thank you is a positive way of showing appreciation but as a guy a nod of approval might be enough. No direspect intended, but would it make us seem too soft?. High 5's and at-a-boys all around!

Well the thanks system is generally a good way of judging forum members apart from just your usual post count, since it normally indicates how useful someones posts are, and how freely they return thanks. Its good for if people post very little, but get heaps of 'thanks' cause you know what they post is extremely useful or good!
I've seen it used quite well on other forums, and (while I doubt it would be an issue here) people who don't contribute much are extremely obvious.
