Surprisingly our librarians can take storm shields now, granting them a 2+/2+ in close combat! I've also decided to repaint my purifiers to be strike grey knights again since I've found that the 8th edition version is a bit weaker than 7th. If anything Paladins have become the new MVP since they have 3 wounds, can teleport and can bring MUCH more pain in melee. If ever I want to change it up I can switch out 5 paladins for the gunship, which belts out a laughable 40-50 shots with combined weapons.
If this new edition has taught me anything so far its that I'm going to need much more dice to play XD.

take the stormraven and if you have any room for it, take this aswell on him:
which costs 168 or 180 points with incinerator instead of the stormbolter
and the stormraven is awesome. the dread can get really deadly really fast thanks to the speed of the stormraven. turn 2 charge guaranteed.
a 2++ libby in close combat is also great
btw. brotherhood champions.... they fricking rule just to let you know

I like that there are keywords now.
Let's just hope they mean something as well.
Are the templates gone?

templates are gone. keywords are used for abilities auras and such stuff. some terrain features affect different types of unit keyword types and so on.

Re: Andarius's 8th Edition 2000 points Grey Knight Force.
Had my first 1500 points game yesterday against Necrons with the new 8th edition rules proper.
Grey Knights are a wrecking ball! Took 5 turns but I tabled him with only moderate casualties. Killed his Night Bringer in 1 turn!!!
I might change the incinerators to psycannons for my strike squads since there is a mild flaw in their use. They have an 8 inch range but when you deep strike you must arrive at least 9 inches away from an enemy. Making them out of range at the first go.

jup incinerators are good but mostly on interceptors for me.
psycannons are mostly the way to go.
the psilencer got more interessting though. you can wound most stuff on at least 5+ now (unless its T8 or higher) and its amount of fire and damage aint bad

The majority of my army spams smite and uses Gate of Infinity or Sanctuary when needed.
The Dreadnought utilizes Astral Aim to exploit LoS as a long range anti-tank sniper while two dread masters run around smashing everything in sight and offering rerolls to allies.
The only crippling flaw is the lack of command points but for now I'm happy with what I have.
Also whenever I want to change things up I can switch the dreadnought for Grand Master Voldus for a paladin boost.

You have two dread knight grand masters?
That's a sight to behold, wouldn't want to be a deamon when those come plonking.
How useful is the Stormraven in this list?

Very effective indeed! My weapon options make it both anti-tank and anti-infantry, and with the beta bolter discipline it can now give off even more firepower at a distance. (Along with everyone else.)

I had considered down grading the paladins to normal grey knight terminators backed with an apothecary to gain battle-forged status and double my command points but paladins are just far more superior at their job.

Yeah, the question is if the termies can do the job good enough? Since if both units completely annihilate everything it attacks, why go for the more expensive?
Certainty, but still.
It's worth considering.

This should be the best of all worlds for me, granting double the command points and more squads to space out just in case of a failed deep strike. The purgation squad is actually quite effective if given the Astral Aim psychic power, granting them the ability to shoot through cover regardless of LoS and deduct a cover save from their targets. The Dreadnought would be given the Gate of Infinity psychic power which would make him terrifying CQC support that can teleport every turn!
