Nice to be back.

Playing against a predominantly Ork player tonight, though he does also have Dark Angels.
Taking a honed and tried list of Purifiers and Psynaughts:

HQ

Thoughts:

Ok it's a refinement of a previous list, with thoughts more to objectives.
The Rhinos form a line of steel which move forward to use psycannons to best effect. The lone purifier squad is for securing objectives in my half of the table, while the dreadnoughts provide long range fire support.
Crowe hides behind a rock most of the game (cowardly but why give opponent more points)

Things this army may struggle with: AV13/14 stuff. Mass infantry (though once those psycannons get into heavy mode that could be dealt with), lots of cover (I HATE KFFS!)

Dumb question I have(I am having Star War withdrawls). If multiple purifiers are in combat with a single unit, do the individual units get the opertunity to phychic test for cleansing flames( meaning multiple cleansing flames) each assault phase? scratch Just wondering...

if you have more than 1 squad of purifiers in combat, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to cast cleansing flame more than once!
I like your list, even though it is squishy, purifiers for the win!
Though I might be tempted to drop a minimum amount of purifiers to get some terminators in there for some more survivability

If your wanting this list to be more competitive, it may be worth dropping the vindicare and making the following changes: Techmarine + upgrade 5 rhinos to razorbacks w/pysbolts

With this your techmarine can run around in your purifiers unit (without a transport) fixing everything (hopefully) also the rule which gives +1 cover save to your cover save in a single ruin will help your units too.

no to razorbacks. my force of psycannons ripped apart 2 squads of purifiers.

and my vindicator took out TWO land raiders in 2 turns.

Techmarine is 90 points. WAY too much.

Crowe just hides behind a ruin most of the game.

Purifiers with psycannons is way to go for me. Razorbacks just aren't good enough.

Very happy with this list.

Oh and to answer Cleansing Flame. Yup, 3 units assaulting a single unit means 3 Cleansing Flame rolls!


Plus Razorbacks against hoardes isn't enough firepower.
5 razorbacks with heavy bolters will put out 15 shots. my 5 rhinos at 24" in heavy mode can put out FORTY str 7 rending shots.

First and foremost, how did the against your orc/dark angel loving friend game go( I love reading peoples battle reports)? Safe money says that you wiped him off the board. By the way, hammers could help you against AV13/AV14 units, if you can scrape 25 points from somewhere. Although, it may not be neccessary with the number of psycannon shots you are putting out.

So far I haven't found any army that can effectively deal with 40 psycannon shots a turn. Orks being the largest army i've faced (with KFF) were the hardest challenge, but even they succumbed.

Once the Purifiers are out of the Rhinos then they're cannon fodder (hence not a fan of Razorbacks!) and die too easily in CC.

I actually did that.

changed spare purifier squad to a strike squad (vanilla) and had hammers in each purifier squad. took out false Crowe with one!
