Army looks ok to me, I've had 3 games with it so far, Drew 1, Won 2.

Welcome to the forums!
At 1500 points you probably don't want to lose that third troop, so I'd only go the LR if you want to make sacrifices elsewhere.
Probably also an idea to use the elite termies as a retinue for your HQ, makes him alot harder to kill
The advantage you have now is the fact that you have lots of priority targets, ie the dreads and termies, which should draw attention away from your PAGK, LR's are good when you can't avoid that focus and want to move your PAGK's.
Depends entirely on your playstyle I would say.

I'd swap the dreadnoughts for a LR. This way you have two twin linked lascannons and transport, instead of Twin linked lascannons and CC dudes.Xallion wrote:HQ: brother captain with auspex and holocaust

Inside the LR, stick a squad of GK's w/Incinerator or GKT's w/Incinerator.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum Xallion. Right now I think your record speaks for itself as your army seems to be working. I'd suggest to play it a dozen or so more times, see how it goes and then decide wether or not including an LR might improve things. Out of curiosity, what unit do you usually attach the Inquisitor to?

The inquisitor is mainly used as a way to have an assassin but is mainly to just be a small anooyance to the enemy in the hope that they will waste a turn of shooting on him, so he always goes alone so the GKs can use their shrouding still.

Welcome to the forum!
Just curious, in the 2 wins/1 draw you had, how did your vindicare perform w/ 5th ed?
I always loved the vindicare and I used to field one everytime when I used inquisitors. I just feel that the new cover save rules take away from the vindicare's lethality in that almost everyone can get some kind of save (even w/ spy mask reducing cover saves).

yes the vindicare is alot less effective now, in the games he kills one person every 2 turns, however i may take an eversor instead.Rivan wrote:Welcome to the forum!

Re: 1500pts of Daemonhunters woop woop!
First off, I think you short changed yourself 25 points. The 4-man Elite termies should only be 214 points (BC + 3 termies + incinerator).
I would suggest using 20 of those points to give your dread a TWLLC for more AT capability, just in case your LR gets knocked out. I think you have enough anti-infantry shots from your SB and psycannons already.
Unless you really want an independent HQ, you can also just give him a 4 man retinue vice having the elite termies. This saves you a further 15 points since you would typically use him joined up w/ the termies anyway. So now you still have 20 points to play around with...maybe EA for the dread, targeters, or melta bombs for your justicars? Just my thoughts...

Re: 1500pts of Daemonhunters woop woop!
I like this army much better. You won't regret adding an LR to the roster. Actually the Elite Termies only add up to 199 points (including the 'cinnie). If my math is correct you have 40 points to play with. As Rivan suggests, give your Dread a tllc. May I also suggest to drop both auspex's, the storm bolter and the extra armor and give your inquistor a bolter instead and your B-C a psycannon. A B-C with a psycannon will be of much more use than the Inq. with an over-priced sb. Just a thought.
edit: looks like you'll have to drop a set of smokes as well if you take my grandiose suggestions seriously.

Re: 1500pts of Daemonhunters woop woop!
As Brother NF suggested, the psycannon for the BC is definitely more worthwhile than the SB for the inquisitor...
Hmmm, if the termies are an Elite unit, I think it would be 214 pts (BC+3 GKT+ 'cinnie/61+138+15)...if they were just a retinue for the HQ, then Brother NF is correct, they would only be 199 pts coz there'd be no BC and you would have 40 pts total to play around with...

I have to admit I'm a huge fan the LR in any PAGK army, the mobility it provides is really astounding, as well as its resilience to damage.
Also if you decide to run the GKT in the LR, then its probably an idea to avoid the psycannons, and go with cinnies, especially if your BC is accompanying them!

Whoops! My bad. I misread and assumed it was a retinue. Might I suggest that you make it a ret though? With only 1 wound a B-C is a wee bit fragile for solo work so you might as well give him the protection needed in close combat.

Re: 1500pts of Daemonhunters woop woop!
yes, you were right the first time, I think you are slightly confused about how i write my army lists, the GKT squad is his retinue (Hence they are under him and above the other HQ choice) i think its just the way i write my army lists sorry for any confusion i have caused to anyone.NemesisForce wrote:Whoops! No worries Brother X, like Brother NF said, it's better for the GKT's to be a retinue as they would bolster your BC's survivality.
...so you DO have 40 points to burn...and speaking of burn, if you are really planning to put your BC and retinue in the LR and expect a lot of CC action, you might even consider giving you HQ an incinerator too. The new rules on multiple template weapons will ensure your squad deals A LOT of "hot pain" ...just another option, plus it saves you another 10 points

1 final thing...I count you have 1499 pts...for that last point, why not give one of your PAGK squads a targeter? awesome benefit for 1 pt.
