And it would be interesting to see how they actually turn out to be, although my expectations are low.

Updated rumors:
http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2010/12/40k-rumors-holiday-grey-knight-chatter.html
I like it all except the continued rumor of losing Fearless. An 8-man GK squad advancing on IG conscripts takes two casualties and with a bad roll runs away? And these guys were bred to fight Daemons? Doesn't fit any way you look at it.

Re: GK Rumors
a friend of mine found this on a french forum it's a translation of some guy who said that testify from a guy who read the new codex and saw some playtesting
there's rumours we already saw and others ... take it with a lot of salt, beacause i don't know who posted and where, so the reliability is at least questionable, but again it's the number and the frequency of the rumours that is interesting imho.
Hallebarde avec I+2
some translation
at the end of each phrase my comments in ()
Coteaz seemed to make his acolyte retinue as troop, but IST BS 3 (not very interesting) and the templars EW and SS at the price of a SM seems more interesting
for the retinue : Bolter +5 points SB +7points but still BS 3
GKT 2PV 5+ invul, and FNP with some apothicary( ???)
Purgators as troops and could have all the supplementary weapons...
Vindicares as seen before here (0-3....) they loose night fight but are still "discreet" ??
psycannons F 7 and rending
psygatling of the dreads : F 5 but heavy 12 ( )
GKT no EW but FW (there something contradictory here )
new weapons and equipments :
F+2 sword
I+2 halleberd
Another one that the man has forgot
he saw playtests ( well he said he saw playtests) and the inquisitor + retinue + assassins can walk one every units of the game in 1 assault phase (... as nearly every assault specialised troops
GK = 20 points a little more for the justicar
IST and retinues has assigned vehicles (which ones ?? )
GK could use : rhinos, chimera, LRs, Stormravens
Stern seemed to have a SS (but that's the only thing i could see)
Callidus seems stronger when he/she arrives : 1D6 PV PA 1 or 2 and could fire with his/her breath weapon and charge
No meltas for the GK that seems a rarity in the new codex. (too bad i love meltas)
Coteaz seems to possess a power that gives his retinue the ability to force the deamons to re-roll there invul save in 6" ... (not bad)
GKT seem to have force weapons, enhanced equipment but alas only F 4 ( )
The author will try to put some pics of the GK dread but not before Christmas and if he can have a new look on the codex...
Well make your own opinion

Re: GK Rumors
A few weeks a go I bought models for a challenging characterful army. It's looking increasingly like what I've actually bought are Silver Ultramarines with assault cannons and force weapons, but no meltaguns. Hopefully this is fairly inaccurate.
+++ Meanwhile, in a design studio in Lenton +++
'It says here in the background that these guys specialise in teleport assaults. We could give them something like deamonic assault. It would be a counterpoint to what their archenemies use and sort of reflects how a strike force would operate.'
'Nah, lets give them 35 point rhinos like the other marines have. There isn't a model for a teleporter but if we mech them up it's an Easter bonus for everyone. Huzzah!'
'Huzzah!'
'And lets make those assassins 0-3. Right now people only buy a single assassin at £8. Lets do a box set of 3, add some alternative parts, and charge £35.'
'But that's almost £4 mark up on each model in a box!'
'Bonus!'
'Huzzah!'

Re: GK Rumors
I reckon its all converging to the same place: we got the 2 wound Termies (4+ Save!!), the Dreadknight (new stuff is always awesome), lots of options for GKs, and the Inquisitor that makes retinue troops. It makes sense to me, but I'm sensisng that the overall feel of the army is going to change, hopefuly for good.
I'd take these rumours with very little salt since they are more of a confirmation than new stuff.
On a more personal note: I want the new Codex nowww!!!

So do I Brother!
About this new thread of rumors, well at list it's in french! lol
I would be quite disapointed if PAGK strike now at S4... but power weapons for every body would be nice...
I would be disapointed to, and even upsetly wondering if IST had to be less competitives as their IG brothers...
Once more, let's keep waintig to see.....................

Re: GK Rumors
S6 makes more sense than power weapons. Daemons don't care whether your sword cuts through power armour, their save is invulnerable. At least with S6 a Grey Knight could cause more wounds on the average warpspawn and make them attempt saves. Basically, the change in rules would make Grey Knights no better than a normal marine against daemons.
If the Grey Knights were tasked with killing MEQs it would make sense.
But they're not.

Re: GK Rumors
french translation from news posted on BOTLS (so keep your salt ready )
so
codex seems to be in the impression phase
new unit : the dreadknight = super termi psyker like a super penitence machine, and with the rule monstruous creature (?). big dread cc weapon, lots of wounds, 2+ saving
the new codex seems powerful (scale = space wolves)
termies as troops with one special character
termies 2 wounds, invul 4+
GK seems to loose "Fearless" (a pity in my opinion) and seems to have "and they shall..." instead
PAGK seem to have squad psychic powers, one like hammerhand, and one passing the SB to F 5
Once again make your own opinion

Unit Psyquic powers for PAGKs is awesome, picture Hammerhand for the whole squad! 5 man str8 with PWs is plain sick! NFW that increase Init? give me 5 of those please!
Oh well, I'm just wishlisting .... where's my salt pot.... We'll have to see the final result but I'm sure it'll make us very happy.
Also, I consider that with 5th ed. fearless was more than a hindrance than a boon for us GKs. I rather take ATSKNF any time instead of those extra wounds for loosing an assault. I don't even want to think about those battles where I lost entire squads to this rule.

i don't really think all the squad will have S8 but instead the justicar like holocaust channelled by the BC ... if you're right it would be awesome indeed !!
yes i understand your point with "fearless" but with "and they shall..." you should have to make a test when loosing 1/4 of a unit in shooting phase ... it seems odd to me, and not really in the fluff... but you know, every player interpret the fluff and the rules... so ... wait and see.

Re: GK Rumors
Just to add some spice to the discussion, allow me to do some "fantasy-hammer" with all these rumours:
PAGK: 20 pts. each + justicar. Upgrade NFW for +2 Str, or +2 Init , Squad psyquic power: +Str (to one model or the whole unit???), +1 Str to SB (also one model ore the whole unit???), purgation squads available. We still don't know if PAGK will be able to carry Psycannons and Incinerators (and/or two other new weapons) and at which cost.
With this information we are looking at: 5 PAGK basic (4 GKs + Justicar) around 120 pts (?), entire squad takes NFW upgrade, squad takes one psyquic power, one Gk takes Psycannon (I'd leave pts cost same as before), one GK takes cinnie (same as before), one GK takes special weapon 1 or 2 (10-25 pts, just a wild guess) and last but not least, justicar upgrades (no idea what they're going to be, if any)
So we are looking at maybe a total of 225 or more for a 5 man squad. It will however pack more fire power and CC stamina, which is great BTW.
Sorry about this "fantasy hammer", I just couldn't help it.
Is it too far fetched or does it look kinda logical?

Maybe March will it be.... What makes me upset is that there's hardly anything official annoucing GK... No sneak pics in the WD, nothing on the web site, no article... nothing! GK forces seem to have entered a very deep and secret retreat... I hope in the goal to come back stronger and bannish chaos where ever it is!
