I don't mind the IG so much since the Inq needs someone to meatshield for Storm troopers, what gets me is why conscripts? The guy can requisition everything from an infantryman to a baneblade and he takes conscripts? Personally I think regular IG guys but instead of orders get some special rules to represent being drafted in, or even special Inq orders.

If these rumours turn out to be true i'll be a little sad, i've always been a hardcore GK player and i wanted to try something different with the new codex (since I don't like current IST's) Combined with my plan to start an IG army soon I thought it would be seet. Kinda meh now

Hard to believe it indeed...

But about fluff.... Maximus traitoris Inquisitor Valinov managed to recruit a hole regiment of IG using his rosette....

So, why no IG in an =I= dex...?

not that there would be no IG, the problem is these rumors make the codex more IG then Daemonhunters, and theres no 'new' units, everything is the same and we just have more IG stuff. That would be booring, underpowered,and against everything GW has been doing with new codexices

Ah that makes me sad Sad The longer they drag out it, the more like players are to stock up on the now super cheap metal GK's popping up on ebay. It's like they don't want us to buy their stuff lol

I can't remember where, but I remember I read something telling that about GK, one should look toward Dark Heresy role play.... well if that could be a clue, in spring 2011 should be released a supplement titeled.... "deamonhunter"....

skaven just got a new codex not to long ago. Are you referring to the new "incoming skaven" announcement? Thats exactly like the recent "incoming daemons" announcement, it's just models. if you read the fine print it confirms it's still just models. We could still be january.

True, but imagine a dex featuring a GK army list, and a Deamonhunter (Inquisitor Lord) army list... So if you fiels an Inquisitor, IG may be troops, and IST elites, as death cults assassins... less powerfull, but much more troops ... I gess....

I agree. Elite IST would be bad. If they are though, they better have those AP3 Hellguns or they're going the way of the Dodo in a DH codex.

tehehe nemesis, do u really think that the emporer cud spare ap3 hellguns for IST, tho wud b epic lols if they gave ap3 storm bolters to GKs + termies.

i think GWS know how much we love our GKs and that if they screw this codex up they are gunna get a lot of crying about how stupid they have been. i personally want to see furious charge on our GKS or a tailored version, str7 NFW might be a bit harsh and pointless as we wound pretty much all infantry troops on 2s with exceptions, and possibly a better save for our assasins, if theyre so good at dodging stuff yet its only a 5+

anyway thats a cent of my 2cents Very Happy

Play 1000 sons, they have ap3 bolters. and guard already has the AP3 stormtroopers. Again, i SINCERELY doubt we'll be a rehash of another codex. we'll just have to wait and see what cool things are in store for us.

Remember also that as far as we know the codex has not been finalised, so its possible that this is true right now, but will be play tested and changed later. Rumours as rumours, its not the final line up.

I don't think they do much playtesting these days...
That being said most of the rumours we have seen are outright rediculous, so I'm not placing too much faith in them till closer to release.

Like the rumor,borrowing my own typings give GKs
"S6 rending, with 2+ invu, their storm bolter count as S10 ,which allow no armour or invu saves because their blessed, their all gonna have terminator armour with jump packs that can turbo boost like bikes, still shoot and assault, and the termie armour allow sweeping advance and they get 6 extra D6 to their roll because their so proficient with their armour and they can charge after their combat and since their so f**king awesome their gonna get +20 attacks on charge, and when somebody charges them they toss grenades, which make every enemy model get their stats reduced to 1, including Ld and they compleately nullify all psykers, so they can't do sh*t, while every GK can cast a power which can wipe out whole squads, target different targets, than others in their squads, the normal GK will cost 2pts per model and they get 25pts Land Raiders as dedicated trasports for all and GMs can single handedly slaughter 900 models per turn, with instant death, ignoring Toughness and Eternal Warrior rule, and also they get all the helping special rules in the rule book, which include Hatred against everybody, Feel no Pain, Fleet with 8 extra D6 to the roll, Furious Charge, Infiltrate, Scout and all the others."

Unfortunately Jakay, GW hasn't given a rodent's furry rear end what GK players have needed for the last 7 years and they definitely won't care what we'll think of the new dex or what what we might need for the next 7 years after. They're a take what your given and lump-it type of company.

Sounds like most companies that reach a certain... level of 'wealth'.

I am curious how our codex will turn out. If even half the more 'reliable' rumours are right, I'm going to be quite pleased.

On a secondary random note brothers... I finally finished my force after the annoying task of tabletop quality painting 2 more Landraiders.
Huzzaaah for finishing an army! (which hopefully won't be completely unusable in a year or so from now)

I get the feeling LR's will be less of a mainstay for GK's in the next edition to be totally honest, but they are always useful!

Maybe, but I think they will always be the most reliable mobility factor for our GK's in that they provide mobility throughout the game until it is destroyed. Of course, inq razorbacks would be awesome! But I'm also VERY excited about our GK redeemer cheers
