Hello all!
Just wanted to say hi to my fellow Grey Knight battle brothers! My son got me into 40K a few years back and I immediately fell in love with the Grey Knight models. Been playing them ever since. Still on active duty with the US Navy so my playing time is sporadic at best. But I've continued to collect and build the models. Looking forward to sharing and learning GK tidbits with you all!

Re: Hello all!
Welcome and enjoy your stay. I'm guessing they don't have gaming clubs on naval vessels, do they?

Re: Hello all!
I reckon Grey Knights would be great on naval vessels. Just because of the weight of them, they wouldn't move as much as plastic would in the swell of the sea.

Re: Hello all!
Thanks everyone. No, we don't have gaming clubs onboard That would have been nice though LOL
I'm lucky enough to be stationed onboard an aircraft carrier so I can hardly feel the rocking (unless we go through a really bad storm). At least I'm able to work on my models during my off-duty time...

Re: Hello all!
I recently saw a show on the inner workings of the USS Ronald Reagan carrier. Very cool. Below decks it looked like they were working in a warehouse or the basement of a huge building, not a ship. You get much privacy? Get razzed for painting 'shiny grey toy soldiers'? How about shore leave? I'm a real samurai nut and would be itching to hit land and check out the castles and museums.

Re: Hello all!
I have a stateroom I share with another officer. Perks of being an officer, yeah at least I have a private area to paint my stuff. My roommate thinks I'm a geek but then again, he spends his free time playing video games so we're still debating on who's actually "geekier" LOL.
I've actually had the chance to go around during shore leave and yeah, the castles and museums are awesome. I went to this castle in Kyoto that once belonged to the last Shogun. It was amazing to know that they had sophisticated alarm systems over 1,000 years ago! They have what they call the Nightingale floor that chimes when someone walks over it. Part of their defense vs ninjas or assassins. Pretty cool!

Re: Hello all!
It's allways nice to see another defender of Imperium and another soldier, but its a shame that you were navy as the army vs navy vs airforce thing is fresh up in my mind as some younger pals just got to the army and were wery enthusiastic about it.
What's your rank?I would like to know just out of curiosity

Currently an Ensign, which would be equivalent to a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army or Marines. Was formerly enlisted and was a Chief Petty Officer (same as a Gunnery Sergeant) before I received my Commission.

Re: Hello all!
yeah I'm former medical sargent, but they allways said they would have a spot open for me as they don't have many people wanting to go to the medical side of the job.
