I wonder....
I'm halfway through the Horus Heresy at the moment, and I had a thought.
What about the Age of Apostasy. For those of you who have a copy, check out Codex: Witch Hunters, pages 4 to 7.
That would make for an excellent series of books.
Another that just sprung to mind would be the rise and fall of the Eldar.
The rise and enslavement of the Necrontyr by the C'tan
Maybe BL could do a historical sort of thing, a history of the 40k universe, just fleshed out like the Horus Heresy
Your Ideas?

Re: I wonder....
a chronology and history of the 40K universe would be wonderful ... though difficult and nearly impossible, because GW changes this history nerly every day : it's called retcon = retroactive changes of the 40k history line beacause of new products, new ideas, new managment politics and so on...
but it would be very nice ...

Re: I wonder....
The AoA would be cool, but i´m not sure about the other two ideas. The thing with the elder was my first thought Tolkin´s Simarillion: thousands of pages and most off them boring. Maybe it´s because the only one who had written about Eldar so far was Goto, and he´s crap.

Re: I wonder....
As far as the Eldar and the Necron history, I think they want to leave that a little more mysterious. Just like how they will never write a book about the time when the Emperor returns.
But for AoA, that would be great. It could be a series just like the Horus Heresy. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if when BL runs out of Horus Heresy books, which won't be for another twenty years after they have written about every little unimportant battle, they will write about the AoA.

Re: I wonder....
I don't think there is such a time when the Emperor returns as the time when the Primarchs(a.k.a Vulkan,Russ,Lion and Corax) will return is called many names(Wolftime for example),but I think that will be the time the Golden Throne will be disabled, the Emperor dies and the whole Imperium crumbles to with Chaos ensuing and after the anhinilation of the entire human species and sub-species,Chaos will lose most of its power on the material universe, maybe even its whole grip on it,then there will be final cosmic battle between Necrons and Tyranids, which anhinilates Eldar,Orks and Tau,which is ultimately a Tyranid victory and after stripping every planet in this galaxy clean, they move on to the next one and that will be the end of 40K

Re: I wonder....
Eldar fluff seems to indicate they might be creating a god of the dead that will destroy slaanesh (and possibly the other chaos gods) when all the eldar eventually die, or enough die.
Of course considerng how many deaths there would be in the 40k universe that could be a powerful god!

I think a new chaos god, maybe a god of despair, will be created when the emperor dies and the entire imperium sees the light in the warp go out.

Re: I wonder....
Well there is fluff that states that the Illuminati, a secret organization within the Imperium that holds sway within various branches like the Inquisition, are planning on killing the Emperors Children at the very moment that the Emperor dies. By doing so they will rejuvenate him and he will once again walk alongside humanity.
That and their is the fluff pertaining to the Star Child, similar to the Eldar God of the Dead, but the Star Child is a fragment of the Emperor that was lost in the Warp upon the fateful duel with Horus. So when humanities need for a savior is strong enough, will the piece of his fragmented soul become the beacon of hope that it needs.
This is just some fluff of course, I don't know if it has any backing all together, but Lexicanum is good for some stuff if you can't get your hands on the older books.

Yea what you just say appeared in the Inquisition wars omnibus, following renegade inquisitor Jaq Draco... who lost quite a few screws by the end of the books.

Yeah I have heard about those, but unless someone can convince the SMs that the Start Child is Emperor reborn or that the reborn Emperor is the real Emperor, they would be against it and they would start another civil war that would likely be the end of Imperium.

Re: I wonder....
Well in the books they have the 'enlighted' inquisitors, basically inquisitors who got possessed by a daemon but who got rid of it in one way of another and gotten an insight of the daemons knowledge. They searched for those emperor's children (not the chaos dudes) in secret but them being blanks made that harder. They wanted to keep them secret and enact their plans. Well, the books are a bit complicated so you should eitherBrother Ezekiel wrote:Yeah I have heard about those, but unless someone can convince the SMs that the Start Child is Emperor reborn or that the reborn Emperor is the real Emperor, they would be against it and they would start another civil war that would likely be the end of Imperium.
