Hey all, just thought I would share the fact that my local GWS finally got in a copy of Eldar Prophecy for me,
Which was very kind of them since they normally can't order books in specially!

Anyway I got right into the book, and have to say I was kinda dissapointed, the eldar spend most of the book slaughtering each other, and in typical fashion dieing like flies.
The end of the book basically left me hanging, wondering what on earth the actual end result was, it was just appalling that this book basically finished as though someone ripped out the last chapter.

Has anyone else read this book? Kinda interested to see what some differing opinions may hold.
I always find the black library books often seem to be more in the style of mathew riley, with it all being about constant action and adventure, however I really find that alot of the books have all the action but really lack in the amazing writing skills that alot of fantasy writers possess.
I guess by the nature of the universe people do die pretty insanely often, but jeez it just makes for a horrible book in this case.

I also read the Grey Knights novel, which I thought was pretty good, despite the author going into tangents to make up some rather unsatisfactory fluff that doesn't really fit the GK imo, and also including wayyyyy too much self doubt amongst the GKs.
Overall I thought it was worth buying and reading, despite alot of people on other forums giving it horrible writeups, and complaining about how the GK in the book are represented or don't follow the codex strictly enough....
Makes me sick seeing all the space marine lovers complaining about a GK book especially when they try and clarify points they feel where wrong in the book using OTHER black library books with equally inventive fluff.

I really don't think that it is right that some SM players(like me) are saying all that horrible stuff about those books as some of the many SM books are much more horrible, but I don't hear them complaining about those books(seriously WTF?)

Its mainly over at the bolter and chainsword forums, but the guy who wrote the GK novels name is basically MUD, and any attempt to mention his books means being shot down in flames.

But they are very happy to use any of the SM black library books to make points, but are also happy to disqualify certain parts of one book, while using other points from the very same book to uphold their reasoning.

Hope that makes it a bit clearer, but the great variety of different authors and books means there is alot of conflicting fluff and its a bit annoying when people try telling you stuff from your codex is wrong due to some book they read Very Happy
