New Brother
Hi.
I'm a new Daemonhunters player. I am a puritan Grey knight player. I hope to hear more and learn more from some experienced players. So far I have found the Grey Knights to be a lot of fun. I live in Cincinnati, OH and I am part of a gaming group called Cincinnati Arsenal Gaming (CAG). I will be around and look forward to speaking with everyone. As a side note the only none Grey Knight units I have is the elite inquisitor just so I can take the vindicare assassin.

I don't think ending every sentence with "!" is bad. It's all good. I have just started painting them and once I get done I will put them up. I decided to stick with the traditional look of the Grey Knights. Except all of my Justicars and my Brother Captains and that will all have red helmets with white in the middle.

That sounds cool. Kind of like the SM's Veteran markings. I look forward to seeing your work

Welcome to the forum jt. Can't wait to see how the Justicar helmets turn out as it sounds like a neat idea. Feel free to fire any questions or thoughts you have our way.

So far everything has been cool. I have been around in 40k since 2nd Ed. Wasn't too active during 3rd but became active again at the end of 4th with Tau. Got tired of getting my butt spanked when I used the Tau and couldn't resist buying a 2500 point GK army for $200. So far I have only lost one game with them and have won 5. The only things in my list that aren't GK is the inquisitor, his henchmen and the Vindicare assassin.

Brother Klomster speaks the truth. I know it is a scary prospect to have your painting evaluated by others But this is definatly not the kind of forum that belittles others work, so focus that energy on painting not worrying

Well lets not be hasty, I could post a picture of my fiancee's first attempt to paint a LotR's Gandalf model and I think we would definately see some belittlement flying around

I agree that some paint jobs are better than others, but I am still confident that there would not be any cruel comments
IMO the whole point of posting picts is to get feedback and improve, so your fiancee would be able to gain some helpful hints I'm sure she gets lots of those from you though, Your models look great
Now I am curious to see Gandalf!!! Can you please post picts of him!?
It will be a good test of my beliefs.

Haha ok I'll have to find him
Just to warn you though I was never able to get her to paint again after this first attempt, if that gives a hint
Sadly I can't seem to get her really interested in painting or playing (which I think she might actually like if she gave it a chance!) problem is she gives up too easily.
You know with my record I think my rank should be 'thread hijacker'

Lend your army to your lady and maybe that will do the trick, and get her hooked.

Re: New Brother
The best advice I can give about getting a loved one in to the game is not to pressure to much. If you put to much pressure then they wont want to play it. Now the second part of this is to take her to look at all the models in a store and have her choose some that she thinks is pretty or that she likes. That helps her choose by appeal instead of by whats strong. This has helped me in the past to get a gf or loved one into the game. People will choose what they like to look at versus what is really good at first.

I haven't really ever put any pressure on her, maybe I should try and do that and put a tiny bit just so she knows that its an option

Yeah, be sure to use words like.
"We can have some more quality time together, doing things together, share a hobby"
Stuff like that.
Plus this is a teeny weeny bit offtopic. (Actually alot, but all conversations develop naturally, just finish them or make a new topic about it if it's popular)

Everybody is "new" at some time. And only through paractice and help can you improve at painting (Unless you're one of those lucky people who can paint like a god as soon as they pick up a brush )
I think being new on this site is fun, every member is "approachable" and we all want the forum to grow in numbers and reputation.
