Hunter Killer Missile?
So I've noticed this upgrade at the cost of roughly 2/3 a GK, as basically a single krak missile shot with unlimited range (need LoS) that can be put on vehicles.
Is it worth it? It seems like an interesting option for an early game shot at some vital target of the enemies, even considering the new vehicle damage charts, its possible that it could be quite useful.
I guess its dicey with a 65-50% chance to hit on most of the vehicles that can use it but just the shock value may be interesting......

IMHO I'd rather spend the points to master-craft a weapon than use them on a one-shot weapon.

Kinda have the same dilema though, you could master craft it and never get to use it, or use it once and it may not miss, and lacking anti tank this seems an interesting way of putting in a wild card.

It is good, but I don't think our vehicles will make use of it, The Land Raider has it's lascannons which will be used instead, the dreadnought tllc/ml doesn't need a extra missile. The only case I would consider is on a AC/DCCW dreadnought or a Chimera.
This is because they are infantry support machines. A missile could help.
But realistically there are better options to be used in your army.

Re: Hunter Killer Missile?
I've been considering the tactical value of HK missiles as of late. I've concluded two there are two scenerios where I would use them. In both cases I would be fielding an armour heavy list with lots of transports and dreads if there is room.
1. In a regular game I'd consider loading out all of my vehicles with HK missles. It will take away some points that would normally be spent on GK's but the goal is to take out everything that can hurt my armor early on in the game so that my opponent can't touch the models inside. Having as much as 4 or 5 extra str 8 shots on the first turn could just do the trick.
2. In an apocalypse game with a big board it's not a bad idea to give your vehicles something with unlimited range to draw first blood.
.....anyway that's my two cents

Apocalypse would be worth it because you'll have a lot more points floating around. In a regular game I dunno. I just don't like the one-shot part. I might use them if going up against a lot of Rhinos, Chimeras or like-armored vehicles. Against anything heavier the odds of penetrating are just not there though I totally understand your thinking behind it Coyote.

I guess its like everything though, alot of weapon upgrades may be used once a game if your unlucky or your opponent skilled, is it worth maybe not taking those upgrades, and instead grabbings something that you will only get one shot with, but its a shot that can really annoy someone, I mean the psychological effect of taking pot shots with an unlimited range missile (if you have a few) each round will totally change an enemies choices, and thats always good!

I used to use them. They are fun when they hit!!! So if you are out to have fun and rack up those AWESOME "do you remember when..." stories then go for it. If you are looking for, or are a more caucious player then listen to NF and invest the points in master crafted weaponry

I thought master crafted was kinda bleh really. For the points your spending your getting a single reroll to hit each turn(which really isn't that amazing when most of your models make 3-5 attacks)
Now how about a master crafted hunter killer missile... that would be cool :p

Not unless you're master-crafting a NFW wielded by a GM. Now I can't even remember the times when that one re-roll made the difference for my GM in cc. I almost never take HK missiles on my dread or heavy tanks. Sometimes, I may take it for a rhino just for added punch. I don't like it on chimeras because you only have a 50% chance of hitting w/ a one-time shot. I do agree it's nice for apocalypse simply because of the unlimited range. My two cents...

Haha I don't generally use a GM so I don't have the same benefits from master crafting
