1000 Points Ideas
I want to put together a basic 1000 point army, and I'm currently thinking along the lines of
HQ - GK:BC (possibly incinerator)
Troops -PAGK x 8, Justicar
PAGK x 8, Justicar
Heavy - LR, smoke, armour (possibly hunter killer missile)
This basically leaves me with about 150-200 points to spend.
Was thinking another smaller PAGK squad, or possibly a dread, or a few GKT for a retinue....
I realise I don't have any Psy's, no Incins either, but I am loath to lose the str 6 attacks or reliable SB shots from the normal PAGKs.
From what I know you need at least 4 GKT's for a retinue for a HQ which will probably be too many points.
A smaller PAGK squad is always good for extra troops, and to hold an objective....
Also realise that a single LR will be a major fire magnet, and that this is a pretty light force for 1000 points, I mean most armies could have at least 50 models on the table.
I'm not a fan of psycannons, don't beleive their cost is generally worth it, you lose way too much considering how exp these guns are....
the BC with a Incin is tempting as a CC choice to join a squad of PAGK, since he retains his NFW and str 6 attacks + its another power weapon.
Could probably get another squad of PAGK with a Justicar and possibly 5 GK, with no upgrades.
The other idea was the concept of adding a squad of SoB to my GK army, as a slightly less expensive choice with good defencive capabilities (ie to hold my objectives) I don't have any currently and would need to paint them up, but this does deviate from the pure GK armies I am a fan of.

At 1000 points I'd take either an LR or a Dread, not both. A B-C, 3 x 8-man GK squads and an LR would make a decent force with 14 points left over to play with. Unfortunately 1 point short of the incinerator for your B-C though. Dang it, why can't the B-C be a nice round 60 points?

Re: 1000 Points Ideas
Anyone else recon the BC should have a psycannon for 61 points?
He is just such a mediocre HQ, I almost forget him each time I make an army (mainly concentrating on low cost armies atm ie 750-1k points)
Or at the very least have cheaper prices on upgrading to one.
1 wound HQs.... does any other army have one lol
But yea I wasnt going with the recommended BC + Pys, because I thought I'd stick him in a normal PAGK squad.

Personally I'd give your B-C three terminators in his squad, I don't like the idea of that particular investment going alone.

Re: 1000 Points Ideas
How does a BC+ 3 GKT compare with the added 5-6 PAGK that would be an alternative to the retinue?
What about teleporting them in? (Is that viable even tho the BC is a HQ?) How reliable is teleport (I heard 2d6 scatter can be a bummer) and do our teleport homers actually remove the scatter? I have heard not.

Re: 1000 Points Ideas
I asked the same question about the teleport homers myself. Our entry in the codex about them is outdated though (gee...surprise, suprise). Nobody should dispute us using the the standard rule of 'no scatter' if a unit drops within 6" of a telport homer.

Hmm k cool.
I hate the way half our rules you have to 'agree' with your opponent on before the battle.
Just leads to people then claiming you won using dodgy rules, even if they totally agree'd beforehand.
