Some books i had read.....
As an offspring of the HH novel threat i want to open an other topic about some books that i had read during the last months.
Sons of Fenris and Wolf Honour: I know that many people don´t like Sons of Fenris and would sent some SW scout against Lee and Lightner but i enjoyed to read it as much as any other SW novel (I´m a SW from the deep of my heart) and Wolf Honour was fantastic.
Also some enjoyable reads had been Lord of the Night and Dark Apostle. A must read for all chaoticas and Grey Knights. Those books descipts very good how chaos works and corrupts.
Totally disappointing had been Rogue Star and Stars of Damocles. Both are boring, everytime you think it become more thrilling it turned out as wishful thinking and became as boring as before. That´s the "adventures" of a Rogue Trader dynasty who had run out of luck. Same for the author.

- Spoiler:
- I lay laughing under the table after i read the part when Ragnar and his small band meet one of the Wolf Lords of the 13th Company. The story about Russ and the Spear was amazing. The way how (partially) contumelious the members of the 13th talk about Leman Russ. How much Russ had hated the Spear and that it was a present of the Emperor to Russ. How often Russ "forgot" the Spear somewhere and how he tried to throw him on the Moon. The 13th had searched for the Spear for four days. Man, that was funny to read

I've read the Space Wolf Omnibus, the Ultramarines Omnibus, Horus Rising, Galaxy in flames, Fulgrim, Legion and The Armour of Comtempt.
Hey, Dark Bjoern, which order do I read the Ragnar books after the first three? (Which are all bloody funny and bloody awesome(go Sven!))

Re: Some books i had read.....
I loved the SW Novels!!! They are all awesome!!! I would have to say that they are probhably my favorite
The Grey Knight Novels are a close second
What I have read of the HH novels are brilliant so far (Horus rising, and 1/2 of Galaxy in flames)
The Soul Drinker novels were also a good read
The Ultramarines novels unfortunatly were dissapointing at best.

Wolf Blade
Sons of Fenris
Wolf´s Honour
Believe me you will miss Sven.
Sounds you have missed False Gods (the one between Horus Rising and Galaxy in Flames) from the HH novels
From the Ultrasmurf book i had only read the first and only the german translation. You´re right it had been disappointing.
- Spoiler:
- Alone the sequence when the Captain (in the german Translation they had mad him the Master of the Fleet) of the UM Battle Barge (don´t know if it is again the german translation) entered a system, from whom he knows that Dark Eldar Pirats await him, without shield, without activated weapons and without a screen of Thnderhawks. And if this is not worse enough they crippled the Battle Barge? Would the UM Master of the Fleet be such an idiot? It was so poorly written.

I am reading dark apostle at the moment and it's pretty good at the moment. I like how psychopathic all of chaos is. They kill people and just don't care, although I think everyone in the 41st melennium is. Is there any book with chaos and orks in? I think that'd be quite funny with chaos being very serious and orks being... well orks.

I loved the Grey Knights book (the 1st one this is the only one i have read at this point in time) the book it self was so awesome that it was the cause for me to actually start a Daemonhunters Force, (This was a few years ago though) I highly recommend them.

At the moment, i´m waiting for the first two GK books, the Blood Angel Omnibus, Planetkill and Daemonworld. And i made a small shoping tour through my favorite book store. I start reading HH: Battle for the Abyss. Next will be Angel of Darkness, the Eisenhorn Omnibus and the first two Ghaunt´s Ghosts Omnibus. So i have enough to read for some weeks (i´m only reading during my breaks at work)

The Gaunt books are fantastic, Dan Abnett is one of my Favourite scripters for comics, in particular the Sinister and Dexter series, but i think his contributions to the HH series are amongst the best.

After reading Angels of Darkness all i can say is: All of my prejudices about DA are confirmed. DA are traitors through and through. We, the SW and the GK should take care of the DA. But the book was a good read.

Re: Some books i had read.....
The Eisenhorn omnibus was fantastic. Too bad that the rules for Daemon Hosts doesn´t match up with the novels.
Dark Apostle was really good. And as soon as i finish Mechanicum i will go ahead with Dark Disciple, the second book of the Word Bearer series.
And now something for all of us Titan lovers. Titanicus from Mr. Abnett. It was amazing to read how the God-machines walk to war. This book make me wanna have a Titan for my SW or GK. Damn, was that book good.

In February BL will re-release the Jaq Draco novels (Draco, Harlequin, Chaos Child) as an omnibus under title The Inquisition War. And they will release a novel about the Salamanders. That´s something i´m also very excited for.

You´re asking for secrets of the Inner Circle. I fear i have to mindwhip you.
No, there is no secret. There is a "Coming Soon"-section on the BL-homepage. Meanwhile you can see what they have planed till first quarter 2010.

And just out of curiosity, why would a Henchman be ordering the "mindwhipping" of a Justicar and not just be honoured that are being spoken to?

I do not believe that our Inquisitor Lord ordered any such action to be taken Brother Dark Bjoern. I suggest we proceed with caution. I will not tolerate in-fighting in our holy order. Lets go and talk to this "Lord Inquisitor"

To bring it back on topic. I´m just reading Dark Disciple. It´s the second part to Dark Apostle. Word Bearer as the "heroes". I can advise both books. They´re a really enjoyable read. If you want to know how chaos works and corrupts you should read it. *Fighting the small daemon voices in my head* I´ll feel the need to build me a small WB army.

LOL!!! I have read the Dark Apostle novel, and I agree with you Brother, it is a great read. Haven't had time to read the second in the series yet I to was feeling compelled to collect a WB force But I will not succum to the temptations!!!!!!!!!
I am currently reading Descent of Angels and have two more HH novels to read after that, so the WBs will have to wait.
- Spoiler:
- I really enjoyed the political rivalry between the WBs in the first novel. The captain of the First/Terminator company was awesome!! Especially the scene in which they ambushed the Titan by burrying themselves in the side of a mountain I was thinking that I would build a "Daemon Wing" ie. Chaos Death Wing with him as its leader. But FW only has World Eater Terminator shoulders so that kinda put me off that idea for a while.
