Competitive Henchmen 1000pts
I'm playing in an Escalation League at the moment and the next match will be 1000pts.
Game type is THE EMPEROR'S WILL. The only special rule is "No Flyers".
HQ
Coteaz (with Prescience)
OMI (with Prescience)
155pts
Troops
2 Jokaeros
2 Servitors(heavy bolter)
1 Servitor(plasma cannon)
4 Acolytes(boltguns)
Chimera(searchlight)
186pts
2 Jokaeros
2 Servitors(heavy bolter)
1 Servitor(plasma cannon)
4 Acolytes(boltguns)
Chimera
185pts
2 Acolytes(melta guns)
1 Acolyte(plasma gun)
9 Acolytes(boltguns)
Chimera(2 flamers)
142pts
Heavy Support
Dreadnought
-2 TL autocannons, psybolt ammo, searchlight
Dreadnought
-2 TL autocannons, psybolt ammo, searchlight
272pts
Fortification
Aegis Defence Line
50pts
990pts total
Because the game will automatically be The Emperor's Will, I know I'm just gonna need to sit tight on the objective behind my ADL.
The 2 Chimeras with Servitors and Jokaeros will have Coteaz and OMI casting prescience on them. They will be the stationary twin-linked gun platforms firing S5, S6, and Jokaero shots from 36"-48" away. Jok lascannons should be able to take out heavy vehicles while the S5 and S6 shots should kill off any infantry.
The 1 Chimera with only acolytes will go around the table trying to secure the opponent's objective and get rid of any pesky stragglers. Melta's will deal with any troublesome vehicles(like Land Raiders), plasma will deal with heavy armor, and the mounted flamers will deal with hordes or units hugging cover.
Psyfilemen dreadnoughts will also just be there to constantly snipe bothersome targets.
Basically, I'm hoping to outshoot my opponent and eventually clean up the objective with my flamer Chimera.
My current league meta are 2 SM, 2 GK, Eldar, DE, and Necrons.
Anything I should change or adjust? Should I drop a Chimera squad for maybe Terminators or something? First time playing Henchmen so I'm not sure how well this list will perform.

Re: Competitive Henchmen 1000pts
First off good luck. I advocate henchmen often in my lists cause they bring nice gunline to the army.
Second your points for your henchmen squads are wrong.
First squad is 2 Jokaero (70 points) plus 2 Servitors w/ Heavy Bolters (20 points) plus a Servitor w/ plasma cannon (20 points) plus 4 acolytes w/ boltguns (20 points) in a chimaera w/ searchlight (56 points) = 186 points
Second squad is 185 points as it's same as first minus the searchlight.
The Third squad you've gone for a melta/plasma combo. Can I suggest you go w/ Combi-Melta or Combi-Plasma as it means the whole squad can pour bolter fire.
Though personally I think you should consider a less large squad and fitting them all with plasma guns.

Ohh! Youre right about the points; thanks for pointing that out for me. I'll be sure to change that.Corennus wrote:First off good luck. I advocate henchmen often in my lists cause they bring nice gunline to the army.

You bring up a good point about the last chimera squad. What I should be doing with the extra points if I drop the excess Acolytes? All the bolter Acolytes I have in all the Chimeras are essentially point fillers that I didn't know what to do with. I feel like they're really not going to do much because all my heavy weapons will be the only ones shooting out of the firepoint.
If I make my last Chimera squad a minimum 3 plasma acolytes and 2 bolter acolytes, and take out all the bolter acolytes from the other Chimera sqauds, I should have about 85-86 points to spare(give or take a searchlight). Do you have any suggestions on what I should use those extra points for?
